Michigan Monday: Big House Smoke

Michigan announced that in the Fall when the new and improved Big House opens it's doors it won't be allowing any smoking inside the concourse.  No official word if the smoke from Denard Robinson's shoes will also be banned.

  • 5th Michigan Senior Anthony Wright is transferring to Toledo.  AW wasn't asked back for his 5th year and won't have to sit out a year due to the "graduate rule" ( a student doesn't have to sit out a year if Toledo offers a graduate program that Michigan does not).   “I just saw a better opportunity at Toledo,” Wright said. “I got a chance to look at both non-conference schedules. Toledo’s is a lot strong and it’s a transition team.“I really want to impact the team in a positive way. Although it’s a one-year deal, if I impact it in a positive way, then I’ll definitely have my footprint on the program for a lot of years to come.”  My memory of AW will be the Oklahoma game in the NCAA where he caught fire.  Other then that he didn't have much of an impact as a Wolverine, but we wish him luck at Toledo.
  • HS Track News:  Antothy Zettel won the D2 Shot Put and soon to be freshman DJ Williamson won the Ohio 100 and 200.
  • There are some rumors that Cleveland Cavs are interested in Tom Izzo as their next head coach.
  • An Mgoblog poster is reporting that Mark Moundros & Jon Bills both Michigan Football players were in a serious car injury recently.  It seems that Jon was injured more seriously.  More to come on this story.  The story has been confirmed by the Detroit media.
