Michigan Friday: Spring Game Visitors and What to Watch For

Let's first hit the Big Time Visitors:

#1:  EJ Levenberry - LB:  EJ will be bringing his entire family to Ann Arbor and just did the same over spring break at FSU.  He has Michigan and FSU tied for top on his list and his dad told ESPN yesterday that he plans to announce in August before the season starts.  EJ is not only one of the top LB's in the country but one of the top players as well.   Michigan is full at LB but they will have a spot for EJ if he wants to commit, not sure he can wait until August if he loves A2.   Commit Watch:  Strong to Medium

#2: Kendall Fuller - CB - Another 5 star guy who plays at Blake Countess high school (Good Counsel) in Maryland.  Kendall has had Michigan very high on his list for his entire recruitment.   Many insiders believe he will end up Va Tech where his brothers have played.    Commit Watch:  Medium

#3:  Joey Bosa - Another 5 star prospect at DT.  He is from Ft. Lauderdale and one of the top DL prospects in the country.  He has a top list of: Bama, OSU, Florida and Wisconsin.  He must be serious about Michigan as well to take the trip North.  Commit Watch:  Low

#4:  Christian Lacouture - a 3-4 star DE from Texas.  He de-committed to Texas A&M to look around and currently has LSU as his leader.  He was quick to mention Michigan when he de-committed but it sounds like Michigan has some work to do to become his #1 school.  Commit Watch:  Low

There are a number of 2014 guys coming in as well but it's April and I am not ready to open that book yet!

Treadwell isn't coming up and Isaac is taking the ACT on Saturday.  Many of the Michigan commits have the ACT on Saturday as well and won't make to Ann Arbor before the game/scrimmage is completed.  Update:  Laquon Treadwell will be at the Spring Game and cancelled a trip to Oklahoma due to bad weather.

There is also a "rumor" that the Michigan coaches are expecting a commit at the game from someone the services are not talking about.   We will see how it plays out.    Here are a couple of possibilities:  Athlete Chris Worley from Glenville (has an OSU offer, no Michigan offer yet), TE Jake Roh (brother of Craig) or  DE Chikwe Obasih (4 star guy from Wisconsin offers from Iowa, Illinois, Wisc. to Yale = he is a great student).

Update #2: Another visitor is DT Darius Commissiong who doesn't have a  Michigan offer yet but could get one and commit on the spot.  He is 6'2 285 pounds and is a 3 star prospect to Rivals and has 12 D1 offers.

What I will be watching on Saturday:

  1. Back up running back.  Rawls vs Hayes
  2. Backup QB - If Russell Bellomy is the real deal, Big AL can use Devin in more areas on offense.
  3. Big Will and the D line:  It's time for guys to step up:  Big Will, Washington and Ash.
  4. Back up O line guys:  Will Kalis and Magnuson have a shot to play when they get to A2?
  5. LB play:  Have we seen improvements from Demens and Ryan?  There has been a ton of good practice buzz on Jake Ryan.
  6. Is Denard throwing mechanics better?
  7. Who is going to step up at WR?  Roundtree or J.Robinson?

I hope the weather is decent and fans come out and support the program and the recruits that are visiting.   Go Blue and no injuries!
