The Art of Failure

*I didn't watch the game, so I don't have any witty insight for you.

Bottom Line:

Would you bet your $4M dollar a year career on a Big Al play call?

I sure as hell wouldn't.  Desperate people do desperate stupid things.

Time for change.

*I see I'm getting a ton of love in the comments, though I don't believe I owe anyone an explanation, I had a commitment with my daughter and DVR the game.   I'm trying to have football fit into life not vice versa.   Honestly, I wasn't that excited to watch the game earlier in the week and glad Michigan scored some points and were competitive but I don't believe that is the measure of success we are looking for is it?

I would love to hear from a real offense coach if that was a good play call for the 2pt conversion?   I don't believe there is enough room in the end zone to run that WR bunch play from the 2 yard line.

Side Note:  The ending of the Alabama - Auburn game was unbelievable.   It seems OSU and Urban are heading to the NC game if they can get by MSU next week in Indy.

U are a fucking coward. Used to love your blog, but the last month u sound like a crying baby. Get over your self, u missed a great game!

I completely agree Brad. I used to come to this blog for information & insight. Not whining. I can get that craziness from any comment section of a news story. If Bob doesn't have the heart to watch the game he has no valid opinion.

Hoke & Co, blew it. Gives up a field goal to try for a first down and misses out again. Three points gone. Michigan riding high at home in the 4th and goes for two again instead of the tie to keep playing.
Results--another loss.
Thanks Hoke

I agree with Brad and M Don. Never coming on this site again. Go Blue.

Don't comment if you didn't watch the game. Overall, it was a well-executed and well-called game against a great team.

Well said Seth. Well said.
I would have liked to see the SAME play called for the 2 pt conversion that we saw on the last TD. Put it up there for Funch and let him get it.

Props to Big Al on today's game. He called a really good one. Great game plan. These were the types of plays were should have been calling all year to slow down the pass rush of these teams.

I agree if you didn't watch the game what kind of fan are you . You are a pussy. Al called a good game but you wouldn't know would you you puss

Real Michigan fan always watches the game! U traitor, we needed u on that 2pt conversion! Which by the way was a great call.

You didn't see the entire game and you have the audacity to comment on it... What a Puss!

This will also be the last time I ever view this site... Take care - Puss!

Completely agree with the trend on these comments & not visiting this site again. Bob should be ashamed to claim to be a Michigan blog information site & refuse to watch the game out of some weak minded protest over previous games & the fear of losing. No heart! I'm glad the team didn't take your approach today! All sponsors of this site should yank their support if they truly support University of Michigan.

Good luck Bob. This may be the end of any semblance of support.

You fuckers re evil. One emotional based comment by Bob during a tumultuous season does not warrant blackballing him. Everyone is entitled to a mulligan. Go the fuck away you pieces of shit.

Rob your comment is uneducated. We are not talking about one single comment. It's a whole month of no heart comments. A mulligan?? How can he even comment & not watch the game. Not watching a game over fear & protest & having an info blog is just ridiculous. May as well be a poll voter we all complain about who doesn't watch the games & just checks the box score in the morning before voting.

Thanks for the resume & calling people offensive names though. Sure none of us have similar credentials.

I for one am a Bob and Big house blog supporter. I don't have to agree with every point made, but I will defend to the death everyone's right to make their point. That's the beauty of this blog. There are some blogs that will not publish your comments until the blogger approves what you have to say; if you don’t agree with their position or potentially could make them look bad they will either not publish your comment at all or publish it with a blast against your comment making it look like you’re foolish or wimping out. Thank goodness his blog doesn't edit that way.

Let's admit it, this year has been an emotional one for most Michigan fans, and even if you're a blogger you've invested in this team emotionally. This site in the blogosphere helps me to vent my emotions whether good or bad, sane or insane, and I'm thankful for it and Bob for allowing me to do it.

I do not know how many followers this blog has, but i would imagine its a couple hundred. So the few of you miserable SOBs chattering away here are just a rude annoyance if anything. Say what you want bout me. I do not care at all. But i have been reading this blog for too long to just sit back and watch the few of you gang tackle Bob, calling him names, discrediting him, calling for his sponsors to drop him, etc. that is bush league. If you feel the content is lacking, stop reading. Move on.

Didn't watch the game? I thought this was a good blog

Well, Al did call a good game, but calling three good games a season doesn't cut it. This was by far the best game we played all year. The shame was we ended the game needing 2 yards...... we needed one play, for two yards to win the game.... what happened? Nothing! The moment of truth and we ate it. Didn't roll out with the option to run or throw, didn't roll right and throw a 2pt conv. To Lewan who lined up as a TE several times, didn't throw a quick slant to Butt, which worked all game.... we blew it. Great game, yet another loss that SHOULD if not could, have been a win. Let's get a new OC and O line coach and look to 2014. Maybe thus game will impress a few recruits anyway.

Who cares if he didn't watch the game. I don't blame him, I didn't watch it all either. Don't let the losers checking this blog get to you. Clearly they are taking out their rath on you and hiding behind their closed doors and screen names feeling tough.

Still a change is needed, agreed. Big Al needs to go, bottom line.

Bob whether you like it or not your stuck with me, I've been on this blog for so long I can't even remember when I started reading it. In front of me as I write this note are signed pictures of Bump, Bo, Gary, Loyd, RichRod, and Brady. There are things that each one of them did that pissed me off but I remain a Michigan Fan. Just as the majority of the people that read this blog. I'm sure that where ever they work there have been times when they said the same things about their boss's and owner's, but yet that Company still goes on. If you really didn't like what they were doing you just left. A few weeks ago I said I was selling my season tickets and I did, it was time for someone a lot younger than me to expierence the "Michigan Tailgating". I haven"t been able to walk without the use of a cane for the last 4 months, by the way I'm selling my tickets to my nephew keeping them in the "FAMILY".
I too think the fat man up in the booth has to go, I think that if Brady has a enough balls to go for that extra point(s) he will have enough balls to do what he has to do with the staff. It's about time a Michigan Football coach showed some guts on the field. Yet I don't agree with the call that was made.
But I still believe in Bob and his blog, I'm impressed with his decision on FAMILY first. Where you can still vent without an edited version showing up, as whats been seen in these comments and language. I'm no goody 2 shoes but I don't feel this is a place for it.
so Big Bob your stuck with me....and I'm glad for one.
GO BLUE

There is more to like than football. One must enjoy their children and make those opportunities the highest priority. That said....Borges called a decent first half as he has a few other times, mostly in bigger games. He reverted back to the old Borges later in the game, probably ran out of plays and didn't build off of plays. It looked from the stands as if he called "same thing" four times and it didn't work once......Can't imagine why he doesn't make it look like "same thing" and do something different....laziness? I hope that this game didn't reduce our chance of getting a really good OC and he bringing the best in the business with him. For $650k/yr, M can get the best. As far as the 2 pt. conversion goes it was a good decision followed by a crappy play call. They had a mismatch to the right if Gardener would have rolled right......Perhaps a QB coach could have taught him to recognize this and call it. I'm very happy that M did good and it was a great game, however I'm worried that it will result in "same thing".

After having been married to a native of that city in central ohio, and a alum of that school in said city... I lived many years amazed at the classlessness of the majority of the fan base, as I've mentioned in previous comments. Whenever a fan of that school would say, 'they are no different in Ann Arbor'. My reply was always, 'sure there are Michigan fans without class, but I don't see nearly as many as I do in ohio'. To this day that holds true, however reading many of the hateful and disrespectful comments above, I do see blue fans who equal the ckasslessness of buckeye nation. If we would have gotten blown out none of those assclowns would have a word to say. Keep up the good work Bob, I'm with you buddy.

The 2pt conversion was the right call but Gardner needed to let it develop to hit Gallon cutting out...he panicked and rushed the pass to Dileo. I think it was a good play with poor execution. The D wasn't stopping Hyde and OT would have been rough.
