Michigan Friday: Commits and #1 Team in Town

I think Michigan picks these big commit weekends for a couple of things.

  1. I think they want the recruits to see a bowl practice.   Which they will on Saturday.
  2. The coaches want the players to enjoy a basketball game.  Which Michigan will play the #1 ranked Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.   ( I don't expect RR to make the trip to Ann Arbor to support the basketball team)

Along with the regular visit stuff like hanging with the players, tours of the campus, academic presentation and time with the coaches.   Most recruits can make it minus, Mike Ferns who visited for the OSU game and has some work to complete so he can enroll in a few week and Bryan Mone who will be on campus soon and doesn't need to make another trip so close to enrolling.

This weekend's #1 goal is to take any doubt out of the mind of Jabrill Peppers.   Be a Pepper!

It would be great if the Wolverines play well against Arizona and get a win at home.   They will need great shooting, good defense and some points in the paint from McGary.

  • Adam Schefter from ESPN is reporting that USC's first choice might have been Jim Harbaugh and that USC took a hard run at him.   With Texas interest in the San Francisco coach, Jim name keeps coming up with all the major openings.  If Jim was going to coach in college football, I think it would have been at the place he played under his coaching mentor in Bo Schembechler.   Adam graduated from Michigan as well.   Sort of funny to think Texas has a better shot at Nick Saban then Jim Harbaugh.

  • Taylor Lewan made first team Sporting News All American Team

  • Rivals has their top 100 2015 players out:  #5 Damien Harris, #6 George Campbell, #96 Shaun Crawford.

Judging by his tweets, Mr. Peppers is gonna stay BLUE. He looked damn good in that #2 jersey too.
