Michigan Monday: Tries To Recover From a Blowout

Life in the Big Ten is a tough for any basketball team.  Michigan found out on Saturday afternoon just how bad it could get in a blowout loss to Iowa.   What's even harder for John Beilein's team is they have to travel to CBus and take on a talented Ohio State team tomorrow at 9:00.

The new strategy to shutdown Nik seems to be to put a smaller guard him and try to lock up his quickness and contest his shot.   Coach B need a find a way to get Nik some more touches and a way to take advantage of his size difference.   I actually would like to see Nik run a little point for time to time.  He is a very good passer and could even get a pick and shoot a 3.

Either way, Michigan's defense has to get better (mostly on the road) if they are going to win or share the Big Ten title.    Tuesday is going to be another tough game.

  • Time if flying for Shane Morris.  He can't believe he has 3 years left.  (unless they redshirt him this year).

  • 5 star LB Mike Mitchell is transferring from Ohio State to be closer to home in Texas, where his father is sick.  Mike also has a younger brother who plays basketball and is committed to OSU.

  • Quick question:  How many former head coaches are the Pistons still paying?   I really don't know, but it must be a few.

  • Taylor Lewan is in the mix for being the top tackle taken in the NFL Draft.

  • Would you be surprised to learn that Spring Practice starts in two weeks?   I was.  It stars 2/25 and the Spring Game is April 5th.

No way the he goes to tO$U if the subject of cash even remotely comes up. tO$U is under too much of a microscope to do anything that gets them in trouble. As much as Urban Cryer would want to personally bankroll the parents, smarter heads will prevail.

DiGeranimo, the owner of Maxton Auto, Dellimuti.... any or all of them could be in touch with MM's parents, without direct knowledge of the university....
very, very odd that in the 11th hour both parents had such strong feelings that he leave the state.

it happens, believe me.
