Michigan Monday: Brady Hoke A Pro At Getting Fired

Is Brady Hoke trying to get fired?  Because it sure does seem like it.

October 26, 2014
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Below is a statement from University of Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke:
“I want to publicly apologize to Coach Dantonio as well as the players and supporters of Michigan State for our act of poor sportsmanship displayed pre-game yesterday. I spoke with Mark earlier today and expressed to him that we meant no disrespect to his team. During our regular Friday night team meeting, one of the topics presented to motivate our team was a history lesson addressing commitment and teamwork in a tough environment. A tent stake was presented to the team as a symbol of this concept. The stake was brought into our locker room as a visual reminder, and one of our team leaders chose to take it out on the field. As the leader of our football program, I take full responsibility for the actions of our team. We believe in displaying a high level of respect at the University of Michigan and unfortunately that was not reflected by this action prior to kickoff.”

Someone clear this up for me: is he apologizing for the stake or apologizing for having a terrible team that just got blown out?

So our genius head coach used this example of a tent spike that was of course meant to be used and then gets embarrassed on the field, he then apologizes like a big (insert your own word here).

We pay this joker millions of dollars to coach this team?   The joke is on David Brandon, because Brady Hoke is getting over on him and The University of Michigan.  He is at best a position coach at a major football program and DB hired him to lead this team to the bottom of the Big Ten.  I can't believe I am saying this, but we would be in better shape if RR hadn't gotten fired and was still coach.  This is the worst possible scenario and both Brandon and Hoke should be shown the door this week.

BTW: Great job at keeping this in the media today guys.  If he had just shut up, this would be a non issue today.   Michigan is doing a great job of keeping it's poor play and it's lame duck coach in SportsCenter loop.

Someone needs to end this nightmare.

  • Tom Brady threw for 5 touchdowns yesterday and had almost a perfect game for a QB
  • Denard Robinson ran for 100 yards for the second straight week
  • Jake Long might of torn his ACL on Sunday
  • Les Miles upset #3 Ole Miss
  • Jake Ryan named Butkus Award Semifinalist
  • Northwestern game is a 3:30 kick
  • Update: Desmond Morgan will redshirt this year

Hoke press conference today will probably a laugh fest on how this team can still win a championship and nobody is injured.   Peppers?  Never heard of him.

Finally see some passion.....long missing, and he apologies for it....WTF I just feel sorry for the guy at this point. Not to sorry though since he is pocketing some good coin. He was just misplaced by Brandon. Perhaps Lincoln Park high could use him....,Not Clarkston they're coaching staff is far superior! Please Mr. Brandon or Mr. Schlissel end this joke, or nightmare, whatever it is. I apologize for being so up set with Bo losing bowl games and LLoyd throwing away so much opportunity!!! Give me a 2 or 3 loss season and a trip to a warm place for New Years......win or lose!

If RR was still in A2, we'd be in a hell of a lot better shape than we are now... No doubt.

He wasn't the right guy for the job, but at least he knows how to win. at least he had 1/2 the team playing football, the 1/2 that puts points on the board.

someone please end this nightmare.

All RR needed was a good D coordinator and an AD that helped him with PR....Hey got screwed on both....and then they opened up the pocket book for the ensuing joke...wtf

RR....really?? Please, think back to what happened with RR and understand there is NO WAY his style of offense was going to work long term in the B10. Plus his philosophy dictated that he runs a defense designed to stop the spread...so that's what you practice and know....not going to work long term in B10. PLUS, one good shot to a running QB ends the season if you don't have a ton of good QB's as backups. PLEASE re-think this non-sense of RR being the man....he is in Arizona, but not here. We will all be fine....the next coach with run the Pro and will have a lot of good players. The philosophy has changed and we will be back on top in a very short period of time. The transformation back is almost complete and the new guy will look like a genius within a year.

This is a fucking clown show a fucking circus. That fucking pos Llyod Carr needs to get his only branch off his weak as fuck coaching tree & take Hoke & show him & himself the road out of Ann Arbor. Make Sure LC does not have no input on the next coach or someone needs to punch him in his fragile ass face. Im sick of this shit.

Well said!....love the passion! Lloyds ego should be ok now since he made sure that M sucked for years after his departure......

Ok kids.... i don't believe anyone said RR was THE MAN... Simply stated, the team would be better off with RR there, add a quality Def. Coord.

If you honestly think the program is in better shape today, than it would be in year 7 of RR's tenure, then you might want to get your head examined. The program was in better shape in year 3 under RR than it is today, that's a fact.

ohio ran a hybrid version of the spread with terrell pryor and they repeatedly kicked our ass, along with the rest of the big ten, incase you weren't paying attention for most of the last decade.

If the choice was RR or Brady, I'm taking RR everyday. He can win games, look at his record. Brady will make a fine coach at baldwin wallace, ohio weslyan or oberlin while RR continues to win games in a Power 5 conference.

is that bighurt calling for hoke's removal and a harbaugh to coach Michigan? NO WAY!!! two weeks ago he was calling anyone who said anything like that a moron that needed to get a clue. I'll sleep better knowing that we all weren't so wrong after all.

RR would win here with Terrell Pryor and running the spread and with a number of other variables. RR would lose here if his speedy QB gets busted up and there is no equal replacement to fill in behind him. We are past the spread or the hybrid spread and will be a pro style from here on out. My guess is that the next coach that comes in will also go 11-2 their first year...and that will be next year. Maybe wishful thinking, but I can see it happening.

11-2. Maybe but I would feel a lot better if we had a known entity at quarterback and some degree of confidence that the guys we recruited for the offensive line could like actually block.

So do we give Morris the rest of the season to gain game experience, or do we protect him from getting his confidence destroyed, along with his body, trying to play behind our swiss cheese like O-line?
