Wolverine Wednesday: Wheat Still Not Finished

Ty Wheatley was in Ann Arbor yesterday to interview with the new OC and Jimmy.   Per Sam Webb it seems the meeting went long with Tim Drevno and Jimmy and Wheat talked at Red Robin.

per GBW and Mgoblog board

Which of course leaves the door open for which guy ordered the bottomless fries.

Sam Webb reports that talks will continue today and probably more discussion on contract terms, etc.  So this seems far from over but it's tending in the right direction.

The first team meeting is tonight, so it would be nice to have more coaches on board to meet the players.

  • Remember LB recruit E.J. Levenberry who was down to Michigan and FSU?  I think he was leaning to Michigan because they had his major and FSU didn't but he picked FSU anyway.  He is transferring.

  • The media says DJ Durkin is official but Michigan has not sent out a release yet.   He has also been busy on the phones as Texas commit Charles Omenih has been offered, GA LB Roquan Smith is planning a visit to A2 on 1/16 and FL CB and South Carolina commit Damon Arnette is also planning a visit to A2 on 1/16.

  • Michigan will have 3 big official visit weekends before signing day: 1/17, 1/24 and 1/31.

  • The Michigan Basketball Team had a nice win last night at Penn State, I didn't see the game but winning games on the road in the Big Ten this year will be a bonus!  LeVert had 18 and Irvin went for 17 in the win.

  • A guy getting some buzz for the S&C coach is Kevin Tolbert who worked for Jimmy at the 49'ers and Stanford.  He also worked on Michigan's S&C staff for 2001-2007.
