Wolverine Weekend Update: A Commit - Two Decisions and a Surprise Visitor

Michigan received another commit this weekend from CA WR Deontay Burnett who was a Washington State commit.   “It’s a great place to be,” Burnett told GoBlueWolverine from the airport.  “It’s a new coaching staff that would help me develop my game, and the Michigan degree is powerful.” “The thing that stood out to me the most is the academic department.”
“So they definitely got my attention.”

Burnett is 6'0 and 166 pounds and is rated 3 stars by all the services.   He has been a late riser out west  He also has some nice offers from the likes of ASU, Miami and Utah.

  • 4 Star WR Van Jefferson said that U of M feels like home after visiting Ann Arbor this weekend and seeing some old friends.   He plans on doing some thinking and coming to a decision soon.   Michigan looks pretty good here but he is still committed to Ole Miss.

  • A surprise late visitor, who flew to Ann Arbor late Saturday afternoon after getting offered on Saturday morning is RB Karan Higdon from Sarasota, FL.  Karan is an Iowa commit and now in snowy Ann Arbor taking his full visit today.  By NCAA rules, he has to be off campus by midnight.

  • Rutgers commit CB Jarius Adams left today and headed back to Florida without committing.  He is another one that has some thinking to do.  Michigan is in play for a few CB's and probably would like to get two commits in the next 3 days.

Super Bowl prediction:  NE 24 Seattle 10
