Michigan Tuesday: 2016 QB Recruiting

We know Jimmy loves his quarterbacks and is looking for a high profile one in 2016.   Here is a short breakdown of each candidate:

  • KJ Costello really loved Michigan when he camped in Ann Arbor last summer.  Hoke and company didn't offer because they had DeWeaver in the fold.   Now, Michigan is trying to be a player late in his recruitment as he plans a decision this month.   Jimmy is trying to get him back on campus before he decides, but right now it looks like a Stanford or USC decision.   If he does make it to A2, then Michigan has a fighting chance.

  • Jacob Easton is a 5 star QB from Washington and Michigan is recruiting him hard right now but he is committed to Georgia and seems happy with that decision.

  • Dwayne Haskins Jr. is a 4 star QB from Maryland.  He has offers from pretty much all the top schools and hasn't really shown a preference for the Wolverines yet.

  • Brandon Peters is a 3/4 star QB depending on the service from Avon, IN.   He is 6'4, 190 pounds and a pro-style QB.  He has offers from the likes of Michigan, BC, LSU, Nebraska, Iowa and Virginia Tech.  He is planning a visit to Ann Arbor for the Spring Game and I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled the trigger on a commitment at that time.

Michigan is also set to receive an un-official visit from 5 star OLB Caleb Kelly on March 13th.   As you might imagine, he has offers from the world but you have to be happy about him paying his own to visit Ann Arbor.   Michigan made his top 10 list yesterday.

  • Southfield RB Matt Falcon keeps getting more offers as he starts a new relationship with the Michigan staff.   This is going to be a Wheatley target for sure.
