Wolverine Wednesday: Bacari Getting Respect In Coaching Circles

You read every year that Coach Beilein's assistants are up for different head coaching roles at smaller schools across the country.   One name that continued to be left off the list (and was mind boggling to me) is Bacari Alexander.   He seems like the perfect head coach candidate.   He has a great personality, is a motivator, and knows basketball.   To me he is a great candidate for any head coaching position and it's great to hear that Wisconsin-Green Bay has interest in Bacari and plans to make a decision this week.   With that said, there are other strong candidates as well and a few of the names you might recognize:  Dane Fife, Michigan State assistant and Dwayne Stephens, Michigan State associate head coach.  Good luck Bacari!

  • CBS Early Top 25 (basketball) for next season has Michigan ranked #18.

  • Houston teammates LB Dontavious Jackson and safety Chris Brown visited both Michigan and MSU.  There was a rumor that Jackson committed to Michigan while he was in Ann Arbor but that seems turned out to be false.   Let's hope those two prefer Maize and Blue over Green and White.

  • Michigan offered 2016 kicker from Rockford, Michigan Quinn Nordin on Saturday.  Quinn is regarded as the top kicker in the 2016 class.  Quinn has offers from ASU, Penn State and Iowa.

  • With all the instate talent this year it will be interesting to see who wins the recruiting battle between Michigan and MSU for that talent.  Cass Tech was at MSU yesterday.    Do you go with MSU who has had short term success lately or do you go with the traditional powerhouse with the top tier head coach?

  • The other interesting question that needs to be settled this month is LeVert or mega recruit Jaylen Brown?  How about both!
