Michigan Monday: Congrats to Michigan Softball and Baseball

Michigan's Softball Team is heading to the Championship Round (best out of 3) against Florida that starts tonight.   Congratulations to one of Michigan's best programs and good luck against the Gators!

The Michigan Baseball Team that won the BIG Tournament and found itself in the College World Series Regional Round went 2-2 this weekend and got eliminated by Louisville.   This can only been seen a successful week for this up and coming program.

  • This past weekend visitor Indianapolis (Ind.) four-star (to 24/7) running back Chris Evans is expected to announce his decision this Saturday.   He was just offered by the Wolverines on Sunday.   He has offers from the likes of Minnesota, MSU, Illinois, Miss. State, Indiana and the MAC.   It looks like Michigan has a great shot at this commitment.

  • Scouts gives us this lengthy quote from this past weekend visitor Corey Malone-Hatcher: “As soon as we showed up on the campus, we got a lot of love, right when we first walked in the door, signed in and got our name tags. The first person we met was Coach Harbaugh and Coach Mattison.  So it was really cool to see that they would show us that kind of attention even with a lot of the top prospects in the country there and the top players in Indiana – Auston Robertson, Austin Mack, they definitely made us feel very special and a like a very high priority to them.  We spent a lot of time in the team meeting room, not only coaches but academic supervisors and professors, basically just giving us a rundown of what life would be like on campus.  Not like it was sugar coated, it was real raw about what we would be doing if we were student athletes and not athlete students.  So they gave a very good presentation about how academics are a priority of them and they are definitely going to make sure that they pound that into their players, which is definitely a good thing on all levels.  You really got to have that mixture because at the end of the day, football is going to end, so you’ve got to be prepared mentally and from an academic standpoint.  There are not many degrees in the country that can top Michigan as far as being ranked nationally.  I’m very excited about that opportunity.”
