Michigan Thursday: Some Recruiting News

  • Sounds like Rashan Gary will not make it back to A2 for the BBQ this weekend.  He has a Saturday conflict with an ACT prep course and then the folks that were driving down are now not going.    That is a big loss for this weekend activities.

  • With FSU losing the #1 TE in the country they are now focusing on NJ TE Naseir Upshur who was planning an 8/8 announcement.  He is no longer going to announce on the 8th and will take his officials.   Ann Arbor will be one of his 5 official visits.

  • 2016 DB from California Lamar Jackson has Michigan in his top 10.

  • 2016 OT Jean Delance has a top 5 of:  Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, and Texas A&M.

  • Raymon Taylor signed with the Colts as a free agent for training camp.

  • Scouts Sam Webb suggests that Michigan Basketball Team (even though they don't have any available scholarships for 2016) is still recruiting a Wing or a PG for the last spot in the class.

  • In state 4 star WR  Donnie Corley had a positive visit to A2 yesterday and will be back for the BBQ this weekend.   Most expect Donnie to be an MSU lock with OSU second.

Recruiting is such a fickle business. We all celebrate when we get a verbal commit, but then you have to keep recruiting the guy up until he signs. As we all know, things are subject to change especially with 16-18 y. o. kids. Furthermore, the whole stars thing is just a guess and it really comes down to development and intangibles for true success. Just food for thought.

That being said, I think Michigan is in great shape with Harbaugh and Beilein!
