Wolverine Wednesday: DG Released From The Steelers

Devin Gardner didn't have a good Hall of Fame Game and now is looking for a job.  During the game the Steelers kicker tore his ACL and the Steelers had to sign another kicker.   Which meant Devin was expendable and was cut.   It sort of sucks that he was let go just a couple weeks into camp but if he was the 90th ranked player on a roster of 90 players, it was only a matter of time.    NFL camps go into the season with 53 players.

Good luck to Devin and hopefully he will be able to find another job in professional football.

  • Michigan will make some minor changes to the home and away jerseys.   One simple change is the loss of the block M above the number in the final year of the Adidas jersey.
HT to WD

  • Do you remember Kellen Jones?  He was a LB recruit from Houston that stayed with Michigan for about 5 minutes in 2011 and then transferred to Oklahoma.   He then decided to transfer to Clemson and now will spend his 5th and final year at Wisconsin.

  • 3 star WR from Miami has Michigan his leader with Alabama: Per Rivals:  Miami High School wide receiver Keyshawn Young says Alabama and Michigan are the two frontrunners in his recruitment. He hopes to take an official visit to Alabama for the Tide's game against LSU and tour Michigan on the weekend of the Wolverines' meeting with Michigan State. Young says he'll take all five official visits allotted to him but is yet to settle on his other three.  This kid has a 5 star offer list with the likes of Florida, USC, LSU, Georgia, Tenn, Miami and many more.

Gardner should consider the CFL. He would prosper there.
