Wolverine Wednesday: The Golden Gophers Name Thier Head Coach

Tracy Claeys is now the official Head Football Coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.   He has been the guy that always stepped in for Jerry Kill when he wasn't able to coach and now has the full time job.  This is a good hire for continuity and Minnesota probably wasn't going to pull a big name coach with so many jobs open.    The only issue is Minnesota doesn't have an AD and Tracy could be seen as a scape goat in a few years if they don't win more games.

Tracy gets to coach against Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa in his first 3 games as the head coach.

  • Brady Hoke fell asleep on DeVeon Smith's coach during a recruiting visit.  Anyone surprised at that?
  • Michigan #14 in the latest playoff standing and the top team with 2 losses.
  • The line for this weekend's game has grown to Michigan -13
  • Zach Irvin who is recovering from a back injury may play on Friday.

Happy Veterans Day to all the Vets that have served this great country!

Do not tell me things like Hoke falling asleep on the coach... it will stay in my head for days...(most bizarre)
My Dad was at the invasion of Normandy, (Midshipmen aboard an LST supporting (landing) Canadians at Juno beach, older brother in 82nd airborne. Myself, I only have chicken feathers on my arms to prove loyalty to this great country.
