Michigan Friday: Recruiting News and Notes

  • Jimmy and staff are all over the place this weekend and offering guys in the 2018 class.   No need to call out every offer but they have been very busy.   

  • Son of Detroit Lion great DE Robert Porcher IV will take an official to Ann Arbor this fall.   He is currently a Nebraska commit.

  • Michigan this week offered 2017 4-star safety Bubba Bolden from Bishop Gorman.

  • DP-J will take a visit to MSU this weekend.

  • 2017 Nashville 3-star DT Rutger Reitmaier also just got offered by Michigan.  He is currently a Oregon Duck commit.  Some insiders like Michigan's chances on flipping Rutger already.

  • Jimmy was in LA last night to watch the Hawkins vs. Dorsey match-up.

  • Michigan coaches will be at wide receiver Nico Collins game tonight.  Coach Wheat and Coach Fisch are his main recruiters.

  • Michigan coaches were also out to see Alex Leatherwood as well.  He announced he will make his final decision on 12.16. 

  • Michigan coaches also visited talented OT Isiah Wilson earlier this week and things seem to be trending towards the Wolverines in his recruitment.

  • Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge was at IMG's game on Thursday.   IMG of course has Top100 center Cesar Ruiz and 4-star LB Jordan Anthony.

A final stat from the Rutgers game from ESPN. Rutgers gained 39 yards on 54 plays. That's an average of 26 INCHES per play. Ouch.
