Michigan Thursday: Some Recruiting Tidbits

  • Some have wondered if the Michigan Staff still wants guard Emil Ekiyor in this class.  He has been committed for some time and other big programs like Alabama continue to recruit him pretty hard.   Emil has mentioned a few times that he hears from Michigan but not as often as some other schools.  Sam Webb said that the Michigan coaches still want him in this class and the immediate focus has been on 2019 and the travel has caused a small dip in communication lately.   I believe EE is expected to visit Ann Arbor soon and hopefully will clear everything up.

  • Basketball Update: Ohio grad transfer Jaaron Simmons has decided to remove his name from the NBA Draft and will enroll at Michigan.   Regarding Wagner and Wilson, it seems Mo is a being predicted as a second rounder and DJ is 50/50 on late first round.

  • 2019 GA OL Harry Miller has received offers from Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M, Florida, & NC State in the last week.

  • Michigan offered 2019 4 Star Safety Jamal Morris yesterday.

  • Michigan Football is doing a Big Man Camp on 6/24.  The camp will be both for offensive and defensive lineman.   This could be a good chance for guys to earn a Michigan scholarship or walk-on offer.

Recruiting sure is a double-edged sword. If you want the top players, you have to get in the aggressive recruiting game. Yet, some of these kids are already getting diva status in their heads. Not sure if EE understands what spring practice and the Rome trip were. Obviously the coaches are busy and won't be able to show him the daily love that obviously he seems to crave.
