Wolverine Wednesday: That's A Real Kicker

The Playoffs rankings came out last night and Michigan didn't get in the Top25.  Which isn't a big deal, your either in the top 10 or your out of the conversation.   Michigan is not ready to play that arena yet, but can still save its season with a win in Wisconsin and at home against OSU.

Is that the kicker?  Nope.

Michigan hosted two kickers on Saturday in the 2018 class:

The first is IL Caleb Griffin who says he is the 12th ranked kicker this year and has an offer from Bowling Green.  He visited Ann Arbor on Saturday and was offered as a PWO.  Side note, Caleb is 6'3, that is one tall kicker.

The second kicker in attendance on Saturday was Northville's Jake Moody who has already kicked a 57 yard field goal this year and has 5 offers from Army, Navy, Air Force, Bowling Green, and CMU. Kornblue ranks him the #6 kicker in the US in the 2018 class.   With a tight class it might be difficult for the Wolverines to give Moody an offer but it seems his talent is worth it.

Side note: Bowling Green has a real kicking need.

  • Ambry Thomas wants to play both ways.  Michigan could use a deep threat on offense, lets give him a shot!

  • Michigan offered another Florida commit on Monday, offering 2018 3 star defensive end Taylor Upshaw.

  • Michigan also offered Arizona State commit CA OT Jarrett Patterson on Monday as well.  Jarrett plans on taking an official to Ann Arbor.

  • Sad news about former Wolverine Aubrey Dawkins who transferred to UCF to play for his dad.  He sat out last year due to transfer rules, now will miss this season with a shoulder injury.
