Michigan Thursday: Less Night - More Noon

I have a theory that Jim Harbaugh's Wolverines don't play well during night games, because coach hates night games.  Jimmy prefers to lace them up and play at 12:00 or 1:00 not 7:00 or 8:00.

With Fox Sports now joining ESPN and the BTN showing Big Ten prime-time games, the more likely the Wolverines will end up playing after dinner.    We know that NBC has already put Michigan at ND in primetime but the new probable Big Ten list seems a bit much.

Michael Spath tweeted out yesterday that he has a source that is saying Michigan could be in primetime against Nebraska and Penn State at home and MSU in East Lansing.   Usually, the football program prefers to have only one night home game per season, but I expect that is going to be very difficult to do with one of the Big Ten's top brands.

So the talented Wolverines will not only have one of the hardest schedules in the country, they are also going to be playing in uncomfortable time slots.  I guess they better get comfortable being uncomfortable.

  • Donovan Jeter confirms that he tore his meniscus in practice last season and has now moved to DT from DE.

It is foolish to think M has a greater chance of losing at night than in the day. Whether the game is at night or in the day, the conditions are exactly the same for both teams. I watch all the M games on my tv in California. It is much better to host a football party at 4 pm Pacific time than 9 am Pacific time. Let's have more night games!!

Could not agree more. U of M is a national brand with that kind of recognition and a huge fan base to think that we can play every game at noon is naive. The best teams play in primetime michigan should embrace this.

You both make good points, I'm on the East Coast and much prefer earlier games. Goose your right, if Michigan wants to play at a National Championship level they need to get used to playing more night games. With that said, my eyes see a different team at night and that is something the Wolverines coaches will need to fix. I will put up a poll up to see what all the BHB faithful prefer.

It seems Google has removed the poll feature from it's blog software. Sorry.
