Michigan Tuesday: Welcomes Another 4 Star CB

Don Brown is building something special in Ann Arbor and if your a defensive player you are taking notice.  Jalen Perry (6'1 188) a 4 star CB from Georgia took notice and wants to play in Don Brown's system and get a degree from Michigan.

“It’s the athletics and the academics combined at Michigan,” said Perry. “They have the no. 1 public institution in the country. Their team is ranked in the top four teams. Their coaches do a great job preparing their players to play. Their defensive coordinator, Coach (Don) Brown, is one of the best to do it. He has so much knowledge of the game and of defense. Coach Zordich is the corners coach. I have a great relationship with him. I can really tell that he knows how to teach the position. He knows the game. I like how he coaches his guys. So, all of those things kind of made me kind of fall for Michigan.”

Jalen was committed to Georgia until last month and has offers from a ton of the top programs like: Alabama, Florida, FSU, ND, Stanford, Clemson, Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma and others.

Welcome Jalen, I'm looking forward to seeing you in coverage!

Rooms are getting tight at the Inn for the 2019 class.  With the hopes of additions of recruits like 5 star Zach Harrison, George Karlaftis, and 4 star OT Trevor Keegan.  Also a WR and 1 more LB.  (Crouch is still 100% crystal balls to Clemson and will make his announcement on 1/5 at the Army All American Game)

Michigan has 26 commits with NSD about a month away.  We do expect Eric Gray to decommit at some point, which means that number is actually 25.

---------

I have a couple things to get off my chest:

  • To Big Ten:  Make sure you have your highest rated officials for the Michigan - OSU game this weekend.  Also double check to make sure they are not public fans of OSU or Michigan.    Try to be better then you have been in the past.   Nobody expects you to be a first class organization, why don't you surprise us and give it a try.

  • Media:  Stop trying to make news by putting Higdon in a corner about guaranteeing a win.   This is just plain stupid, report the news don't create it.
--------

No further news on Chase for Saturday.  Jimmy said they will continue to evaluate him prior to Saturday.   Berkley was back in the building on Monday but has been ruled out for Saturday.   If he has a concussion, he should not be participating in meetings.

Kareem Walker has been at a CC in Kansas and will now finish his playing career at Mississippi State.  Where former PSU OC Joe Moorhead is the head coach.  Good luck to Kareem!

Class of 19 keeps getting better...

I expect 2 or 3 currently committed to not be part of this class

Eric Gray is the first on my list

Looking like Harrison will be committed and now DE 5* George Karlaftis (Purdue commit) is just waiting for coach Brohm to leave and he will flip

Still think we land OT Keegan and maybe another WR and a LB

There will be a handful of underclassman leaving in order to get more than 25 in this class... I expect Gary, Bush and Shea to all leave for the NFL
