Welcome to (Early) National Signing Day 2019

It seems the LOI's have slowed down a bit, with only 3 guys still out.   So far its been a big day for the Wolverines.  I think many Michigan fans would have traded a Zach Harrison commit for getting Dax back and a 4 star outside WR today.   Throw in a 4 star OT and 4 star LB from this past weekend and its been a good few days for Michigan Football recruiting!

*confirmed means that Michigan has received the LOI and has posted the signing.

From BTN:

Breaking News

  • Cornelius Johnson commits to Michigan!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • Devin Bush, has not been cleared medically to play in the Peach Bowl and will head to the NFL Draft.
  • Alabama has flipped OSU commitment, Safety Jordan Battle.
  • Michigan as double flipped Alabama commit, 5 star S Dax Hill
  • Georgia has flipped 4 star OSU QB Dwan Mathis

This is the busiest day of the year on the blog, so come early and often as I will have a running list of commits that have signed their LOI's and sent them to Michigan.

Michigan is expecting a large class of 26 prospects signing.

1 new commit is expected with Cornelius Johnson

Harbaugh said to expect fireworks but I'm guessing there really won't be any.   He also will not be doing a press conference today which seems a bit strange.

  • Also former Wolverine WR Kekoa Crawford committed to Cal last night.

A double win Michigan gets their safety back and bama steals osu's
😁😂😁😀😀

The only thing better than getting a recruit from AL is having them steal one from osu at the same time....BONUS

BANG!!!! Wow, we pulled a recruit from Alabama and Stanford. Anyone remember that happening before?

WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT DAX HILL!! TOLD YOU THAT IT WAS NOT OVER. COACH HARBAUGH WAS IN OKLAHOMA ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND SAT DOWN WITH HIM. HAIL YES! GO BLUE!

EzmoB said...

Michigan will be looking to take a grad transfer or two at the DT position to have more depth. The word is aubrey transferred because of the weather and felt like coaches were on his ass. Coach Mattison was working him hard and he didn't like it.

GuyTellTruth said...

Guys we seen this before...where we had high profile players and couple of years later most of them left...I hope it doesn't happen again. One other thing please, please, Harbaugh get a good OC or let at least be more aggressive and stop running the 1965 offense...Go Blue!!

Alex, just shut the fuck up. Today is big win for M. You were WRONG. Dax chose M over A. You said we couldn’t land Dax.

You were wrong. Be a man and admit it. And stop your constant negativity. This is a great day.

GuyTellTruth said...

Please GoBlu go to kindergarten blog..I think this is where you belong...Don't curse again.. we are all entitle to our opinion...It sure is a big win for Michigan...anytime if you get a 5 star it is always a good thing...Go Blue

Zak Harrison please, give us a big surprise gift!!

Goose said...

Any news on Z.Charbonet?

EzmoB said...

We are ranked 4th right now. OSU is not in top 10 any longer. If we get Harrison that will be huge! However the word is he has told OSU coaches he will commit with OSU.

EzmoB said...

Charbonet is in the west coast, the kid most likely just woke up lol. His LOI is in!

Goblu said...

Extra sweet if Ohio drops out of 10... but guess Harrison would bump them up!
Alex-Abu, opinions are fine. And everyone on this blog offer interesting insights. Except for you, who literally says the same opinion over and over. We all know how you feel about Jimmy. How about offering something new.

Why is George Johnson not mentioned anywhere?

UofM91 said...

So with 27 committed but only 26 expected does that mean George Johnson will be the odd man out... or will we sign all 27?

GuyTellTruth said...

GoBlu-Tom...please transfer or de-commit!....if Michigan go 2-10 for next 15years you will say we are a power house!! Man get lost...please!

Come on Zak Harrison!!

Blue for Life!

Ha, good point I forgot about the west coast time difference.

EzmoB said...

I wish these trolls would go away.

EzmoB said...

It's taking more than 26 commits means there will be more departures. I'm reading/hearing T black isn't happy about his playing time. I keep an eye on that one. I think he could be the next one to drop.

Quinn Nordin is another player on transfer watch

EzmoB said...

Coach Harbaugh is looking at Toledo offensive coordinator Brian Wright. Very talented young coordinator. Bob may be able to speak on this more. That's what I'm hearing. He was someone coach Harbaugh had looked at in the past. This could heat up after the bowl game.

For anyone wondering, I read in two places Hickson is a February signee, and Freep reports that Rivals reported Q. Johnson is also going to be a February signee. Don't know about G. Johnson III.

Goblu said...

Hate to say it, but I’m ok with Nordin transferring.

UofM91 said...

Quinten Johnson just said yesterday via Twitter that he was signing early

Kid Adorable said...

I went to the Freep's source to check it out--Chris Balas' tweeted as a followup to the claim: "To be clear, some close to Johnson told our @BSB_Wolverine the school likes to wait until February. This is after Johnson tweeted he was signing early."

Great day for Michigan and Harbaugh.

Alex/Abu - the reason it is hard to take you serious is because none of us actually believe you follow football very much, you certainly don't appear to be a true Michigan fan and you say the same arguments over and over.

Yes - people leave Ohio State, Bama, Clemson, etc. Every school has attrition. It is part of it. And - yes - Bama cuts players. That is how Saban always has strong depth. To not realize that or acknowledge that seems odd for someone that seems to have the answers.

You take others words out of context. Which gets annoying.

Earlier in the year you went on your hate Harbaugh tantrum and predicted 7-6 or best case 8-5. We did far better than that and you never - not once - admitted you were way off or were excited you were way off. Which leads me to believe you are not a true fan. If I thought Michigan was going to go 7-6 and they went 10-2 I would be excited.

Go Blue. And Harbaugh building something special. It is just going to take a bit longer than we thought/wanted.

Little Timmy...listen buddy....like I said 7, 8, 9, 10 wins don't mean nothing...if you are not making the final four.....now if you are happy with that than, I guess you don't expect too much from the 3rd Highest Paid Coach...Our 10 win came from beating teams that are garbage...what happened when we played the big boys...I am a huge Michigan fan, but I can't stand to watch our coach who is more conservative than my 95year old grandma....Overall, it was a good day for us...hopefully, most our talent stay and wait for their turn rather run away like a chicken.....

szanreno said...

Alex, How did you figure 7-5 or 8-4? What was your criteria?

GuyTellTruth said...

That prediction came after ND game. I looked at our offense and said OMG our offense is same as past 3 years. I guess I wanted to see more aggressive and explosive play calls. If Wisconsin, Penn State or MSU were not as disappointing and played like the way they did last year we would have lost two of those games if not one. Another lost i was predicting was from playing other teams. That is how I cam up with 8-4 or 7-5 predication. Just simply our offense is too predictable and easy to stop. Hopefully that make sense....

Tim thinks we are elite football program by the way...lol...he also believes in Santa....

Goose said...

Alex I must ask again who would you have roaming the Michigan sideline, that would succeed where Harbaugh has failed & would satisfy your lofty standards?

GuyTellTruth said...

I don't know Goose but keep recycling coaches until you find one... give everyone a fair chance give them three to four years if they are not performing get rid of them and get someone else... I like Lincoln Riley give him 7 million dollar and all the resource that Jim Harbaugh has he will run here

Tim said...

Oh Alex. We have different opinions on "elite programs". Per the latest Forbes college football value we are sitting at #3. And above Bama and OSU. The Block M sells.

Michigan is not an elite team right now. I said they were an elite program. Which they are.

You admitted you were greatly wrong with your prediction. You didn't defend your lack of awareness that players leave all programs. So I can assume you didn't know that. Nor did you realize Saban cuts players. You have alot to learn. We have all been there.

As much as your temper tantrums annoy me and your posts that go one and on but seemingly say the same things are tough to read I need to remember you are young and have a lot of life to learn and experience.

I am sure your confidence impresses many kids in the school lunch room and many don't dare debate you, but this is different. Although your lack of awareness/knowledge can be compensated with confidence in school it doesn't work in real life.

I wish you the best as you learn, grow, make mistakes and learn more.

GuyTellTruth said...

Pair Lincoln Riley with Don Brown defense... we could compete with great offensive team because then our offense could match the other team's offense

GuyTellTruth said...

I'll leave it at that... overall we had a great day and I am done for the season I will post my comments and my opinion in September... when we start this all over again...until then I hope my Insite and thinking outside the box gave you guys all A New Perspective about our football team

GuyTellTruth said...

Tim I think you're a great guy I have nothing against you I think we do have one thing in common is our passion and love for Michigan go blue and happy holiday

Tim said...

Lincoln Riley? You are too young to remember Larry Coker, but Google him. He inherited a very good Miami Hurricane team and did awesome for a couple of years and then fizzled out.

Maybe Riley will be the next Saban, but good chance not. Last year he had the best QB in college football and this year darn close. And he didn't recruit either one (as the head coach of OK).

Next two or three years could be vastly different for Riley and the Sooners.

You cannot just look at who is hot now and expect them to replicate that anywhere they go and quickly. Doesn't work that way.

Goose said...

Lincoln Riley is not coming to M, so let's explore your next solution. Michigan just keeps recycling coaches every 3 or 4 years until someone wins every game. Well why would any athlete comment to such a program that can't keep a coach? A recipe for an eternity of of really crappy football.
