Michigan Tuesday: Basketball News

Michigan's Basketball program and Juwan Howard's first season doesn't start for 10 days but the news was not great coming out of the program on Monday.   Top freshman Franz Wagner has a non-surgery fracture in his wrist and is out 4-6 weeks.  For Wolverines fans lets hope its closer to 4 than 6 as Michigan has some difficult match-ups in about 5 weeks.  Franz is expected to be Michigan's X factor this year.

The next bit of news is that Brandon Johns has an ankle injury and it walking around in a boot.  The team confirmed a sprained ankle but didn't give a timetable for return.  Johns is an expected starter and could make it back for the opener if it's not the "high" ankle sprain.

  • In positive Michigan Basketball news, former point guard Derrick Walton made the Clippers and signed a 1 year contract.

  • Michigan - Maryland kick will be at noon.  Seems Michigan plays at noon or primetime these days.

  • Michigan Safety J'Marick Woods has decided to leave the program as a graduate transfer and will enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility left.   Woods is a huge hitter and my hope was that he would be an option at Viper  next year.   Good luck to him and congratulations on taking care of business in the classroom.

  • Speaking of Big Ten Basketball, MSU is the #1 rated team in the AP Poll

  • If your keeping score, MSU Football has had 6 players enter the transfer portal since 9/25.  If this happened in A2, it would be the lead story on ESPN.  WR Cam Chambers announced he was leaving last Thursday and TE Noah Davis announced on Friday during the Spartans bye week.

anybody else hear about substantiated rumors that Harbaugh is sending "feelers" out to NFL teams?
