Wolverine Wednesday: A Lost Commit and DD in The Portal

It's strange and a bit weird that I missed a football commitment last weekend when LB Casey Phinney became a Wolverine.  Casey is a low ranked LB out of MA and is ranked 1002 in 24/7 composite.   Cleary, this a Don Brown recruit and we hope he sees something that other major programs didn't.  Casey is clearly a good student as his offer list is full of Ivy League schools with Army, Georgetown, and UMass.   I sometimes wonder if Don gets confused and thinks he is recruiting for BC.

With recruiting and transfers it always seems like we don't have the full story.  Quick example, Tarik Black hasn't picked a new school yet.  What is going on there?  The most I have heard is rumors of Miami or BC.   But that was months ago.

With that premise in mind, David DeJulius has decided to enter the transfer portal and leave Michigan's Basketball program.  He was expected to be the starter at PG next year, with hopefully a nice mix of veteran and freshman players.  This is another example of not knowing the entire story.  Michigan Basketball has been looking at PG transfers for a few weeks and they are currently over the scholarship limit with 5 Star guard Josh Christopher to still make a decision.   If your wondering, Josh is considered more of a shooting guard then point.

  • There has been some nervousness that Isaiah Todd removed some Michigan stuff from his social media.   This one won't be done until he signs.

  • Livers said he will come back to A2 if he doesn't have a guaranteed contract from the NBA.   He is still ranked between 80-100 in the draft, which means a return is likely.

  •  2021 OL/C Cass Tech Raheem Anderson names Michigan to his top 11 list

That's good. It's funny how "Blue for Life" boy always manages to get osu into the mix. Transparent OSU douchebag.

Why hasn't Done Brown been fired yet? Maybe that's not the plan. Hahaha!!!

We all know the Osu game is a instant loss.... remember, it’s about beating MSU going 9-3 and selling a seats...thats success for the football office in Ann Arbor.... Michigan fell off in the 1930s rebounded in the late 1940s... then lost their way again in the 1950s and 1960s... Bo fixed things and Lloyd continued... then we all have been dealing with this very similar downfall of the 1930s, 1950s, 1960s, Michigan has pockets of incredible success but has never been able to sustain it... we really are just a 9-3 program if you look at overall history... the “higher ups” know this.... maintain the status quo... best MSU and go 9-3.... occasional 11-1 on a down Osu year....we all deem it magical and there it is 100,000 in the seats... 25% of the teams they play at home are Rocky 3 competitors... hand picks... tour the Big House everyone... seriously tour the locker room... tell me if you think it’s top ten caliber...the potential is certainly there for this program... but it is very clearly not really trying to win championships... hashtag Dust the Tunnel for once please

Your right Arch Maester the plan is not to fire anyone or win championships it’s to sell tickets maintain maintain maintain, sell tickets, sell shirts, sell 16 dollar nachos, sell sell sell, it’s not about student athlete or the TEAM the TEAM the TEAM.... it’s about using the football program as a way to be one of the better schools in the world.. it’s brilliant actually... the students are as good as it gets in Ann Arbor... we win where it counts at least... and that is why Osu is such a terrible enemy... they are about sports... we are about brains and things that truly matter in life... we just all realize that you could have both... football and brains... but Jim doesn’t have either going for him... sure does make that money though

Wow, great posts, keep them coming... I heard a podcast yesterday where the source said years back OSU sold it soul to beat Michigan and win championships. Meaning everything at OSU now takes a backseat to football. Everything!

I make no bones about this statement, it's my personal feeling; I would rather beat MSU and Norte Dame than OSU. Especially MSU!!!

Steve... I tend to agree.... this “rivalry” is not a rivalry when your dealing with “reckless hate”, that is Osu, a reckless and lost institution that breeds everything that is wrong with America...MSU has become the premier and fun rivalry...the dynamic that we fight over our own state is much more interesting and intriguing... add in the cast of characters like Dantonio and Hoke and Harbaugh and you have something cooking... the day that Sparty got slashed in 2018 was the day the “rivalry” with Osu died in my opinion... we all saw pure hatred and determination just like what Osu did to the banner in 1973.. (I think it was that year) the MSU games have the feeling that the Osu games used to... you ALL can feel it when you watch it... then watch the Osu game... sad... that’s where coaching and ONLY coaching will get you through... when the emotional side has you beat... We need a Winston Churchill type moment to wake us the Big House
