Michigan Monday: Double Commit Weekend

Michigan this past weekend picked up two 2021 commits on defense.   The first was a 3 star LB from Illinois and the next was a 3 star Safety from Ohio.

The first to drop was Tyler McLaurin a LB from Bolingbrook, IL.   He is a 6'2 210 LB in the mold of Devin Bush.  Even McLaurin's name sounds fast.  Tyler is currently the 26th OLB in the country.

His offer list includes: Iowa, BC, Illinois, MSU, Nebraska, Missouri, UK, Syracuse, GT and others.

Welcome Tyler and please be like DB!

Next is Rod Moore from Clayton, Ohio.  It's always nice to pull guys out of Ohio and Rod is a borderline 4 star 5'11 180 pound safety.  Rod is also a teammate of recent WR commit Markus Allen.

Rod has a nice offer list that includes: Duke, GT, IU, Iowa, UK, Maryland, ND, Pitt, and Wisconsin.

I expect we might see a rise in Rod's ranking as the recruiting season matures.  With the loss of summer camps, we might not see a ton of movement until next football season.  Rod is currently ranked at the 22nd Safety in the country.

  • 2 Wolverines were in last nights ESPN's "Last Dance"  Glen Rice and current head coach Juwan Howard.

  • Michigan now has the 10th ranked 2021 class on 24/7

I know I've beat this animal to death but.... These two guys are 22nd and 26th best at their respective position of all the thousands of players in the same positions, in all the high schools, in all the fifty states, and they only three stars. Does anyone have a idea of any numerical or data driven criteria any service uses to determine stars? Or is it just gut instinct. Do only the top 10 get five star, next 10 get 4 stars, etc etc. Interested....

It all depends on what recruiting service you are looking at....but, many delusional fans here think these guys are five stars and we are going to win the Championship next year....oh nevermind according to some of them we already won....why is Don Brown is still our DC.....fire in the hole....

BucknutMan, it's not that we're pretending we've won a championship. And of course, none of us are pleased with the results. But the laundry list of coaches you suggest isn't serious. So if you want to have a serious discussion on alternatives, let's start that. But Urban Meyers (OSU 50% acceptance rate) isn't coming. Riley (OU 74%) isn't coming. Edwards (ASU 84%) is old and isn't coming. Coaches that can bring in great athletes to universities that accept almost anyone, will not go to an academically difficult school like Mich (24%). It's a bad business decision, as they won't make more money coming to Michigan, but their job will be harder.

So, by all means, please suggest someone who could replace Harbaugh, who actually will come, and who wouldn't see firing Jim (the favorite son) with his 75% winning record as a huge red flag.

If you don't want to send a serious list, no worries. But just saying "fire Jim" without proposing a solution, means your just a whiner. And that's why guys here make fun of you (that and you're really a buckeye fan).

What is a “serious” list? Go blu? And that 75% win percentage is total shit! Anyone else remember the Army game last year? Many games like that are counted...

Does Columbus Boy actually read any posts? Regardless of what Bob puts out all his remarks are the same. He keeps arguing with an imaginary person. No one on this list blog is pleased with our recent recruiting rankings, on-field results or in game coaching adjustments.

I have not heard anyone defend Don Brown for several years. Have I missed something?

Why does Bucky read daily and lambaste Brown (who no one defends), rip on delusion fans (who are not on this blog) and continue to live in this fantasy world where some fans feel we have won recent national championships.

Just amazes me how he is so diligent to argue with no one...

CMF, a close win is a win. Just like a close loss is a loss. Not sure what your point is. Want to argue how many close wins we had vs how many close losses?

Tim loves Don Brown...maybe a relative? If you throw money at any animals they will run to it...money is the driving force why many people do what they do...Jimbo is not doing the job winning at 75% it is more like 60%...beating up on D-3 doesn't really count as a win....

Why Don Brown still here? Please, someone shed some light on his mustache??

My point is you cannot just look at winning percentages in college football when many games are against joke teams that any Michigan coach should beat....a Michigan coach boasting a 75% winning percentage is truly embarrassing .... Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, all a serious joke and these games are a waste of time.... these are the games Jim wins.... he doesn’t even have a 75% win percentage against MSU, never beaten Osu, a losing bowl record.... How can anyone boast a 75% win percentage with a resume like that.... it’s like a child saying he is 7 and a half and not 7..... There is NO defense for Jim gentleman... NONE.... my older brother is a season ticket holder and he and I can barely speak anymore because he refuses to stop makin excuses for Jim.... Told him straight up “Listen bear bro” “you have to know when to stop enabling a person to fail, especially when you want them to succeed more than they do themselves” ..... Now... I love my brother and I love Michigan football.... but backing this man is done only by spite at this point... just because you either like him or you want to be able to say “see see”! I stuck with him and he won! (He won’t win) anyone that thinks he will... here... let me Introduce you to a great friend of mine... Mrs Mary Jane.....

MM - I am not a Don Brown fan and I have never defended him on this blog.

You just did what many would call a straw man argument. You pretend I take a position and then ridicule me for it, but in reality it was never my position.

Again. I am not a Don Brown fan. But, unlike you, I am a true Michigan fan.

Have a fantastic day trading penny stocks. I’m sure you’ll make dozens of dollars. Enjoy the day and the sunshine.
