Monday's News and Notes

  • As Michigan was losing it's first BigTen football game this week, the John Beilein era started at Crisler Arena. With two nice wins and Georgetown up next. This is the first time, I have been excited about Michigan basketball since the post Fab Five years. Beilein is the first true basketball coach that Michigan has ever had. He has said that, some of the top JR. recruits in the country are calling him to play at Michigan. Manny Harris (pictured above and last years Mr. Michigan) is also playing very well as a freshmen. Things are looking up!

  • I still hate how things went down for Michigan and OSU last week. Both teams should have been undefeated in the Big Ten for this Saturday's match up.

  • Pat Forde of ESPN thinks he knows this Michigan team. But Pat is who we thought he was! A national columnist who really doesn't follow Michigan very closely.

  • Michigan's potential bowl trips include; The Rose (the real winner of the OSU loss) for a potential Pac 10 foe, The Capital One aka Citrus, or OutBack for a SEC Foe.

  • Did anyone notice Tommy Amaker lost his opening game at Harvard by 55 points?

  • Why isn't more people talking about playoffs this year? This is clearly another year why we need an Playoff system.

  • I am going to throw a wild card out there for the next Michigan football coach - Jason Garrett, the OC of the Dallas Cowboys. Think about it. We could keep Ron English at DC if we want him after Saturday.

Look for the Buckeye Update later today
