Michigan Tuesday: Shane is Recruiting Coast to Coast

One of the biggest recruiters Michigan has for the 2013 class is 5 star QB Shane Morris.  Shane verballed to Michigan so long ago it seems like he has already enrolled at Michigan.  The truth is he still has his senior year to play and isn't done on the recruiting trail yet.

Shane has done a great job in the "protection" category with the likes of Fox, Dawson, Tulley-Tillman, Kugler and Bosch but his work isn't done.   He would love one more Tailback and one more Wide Receiver.

July is the month to make relationships and recruit some of the top prospects in the country to fill the remaining two spots in Michigan's 2013 class.   Shane was just at IMG's 7 on 7 this past weekend with the likes of Leon McQuay and Alvin Bailey.    Shane then is heading to Nike's Opening which starts on Thursday with the likes of McQuay, Bailey, Green and Laquon Treadwell.

Don't forget Shane won't be the only future Wolverine in Oregon at the end of the week.  Committed Wolverines at Nike's Opening include:  David Dawson, Jourdan Lewis, Jake Butt, Mike McCray, Taco Charlton and Kyle Bosch.  That's a lot of Wolverines in the ear of Laquon Treadwell for example.

At the end of the month (July 27-29) Shane has ESPN's Gridiron Kings at Disney; who right now includes McQuay and Kendall Fuller.   This event conflicts with the Big House BBQ which I believe is scheduled for the 28th or 29th.

So if you are keeping track at home:  Shane was in Florida last week, off to Oregon this week, then back to Florida at the end of the month and maybe back to Ann Arbor for the BBQ.   That is a busy July and hopefully he can land a couple top prospects during all this travel.

  • ESPN does a nice article on David Dawson (who is attending the Opening) and the loss of his father this year.
