Most Spring Games come with more questions then answers.   This game/practice is no exception.  The weather is going to be terrible and I expect the offense might be as well.    DG better be wrapped in bubble wrap if he sees the field for a few plays.

So let's get to the questions we would loved to have answered:

  • I can see Cleary now that our back-up is gone -  Brian Cleary went from a walk-on QB to having ESPN articles written about him.  Spike Albrecht even thinks Brian is getting too much attention.   We will get a glimpse into our future on Saturday when Brian takes a ton of snaps and we see if he can "spin it"!

  • Will the real starting RB, please stand up, please stand!  I would love it for Justice Hayes to have a great Spring Game.  We need someone with some experience to take this job.   Or are we just going to hand the job to Derrick Green when he walks on campus?

  • The only thing we are going to catch today is a Cold!  We need some WR depth and I'm hoping for break out performances from the young guys:  Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh

  • Wreck It Ryan II - Who is going to replace Jake Ryan?  How did they do?

  • Air Traffic Control - How are our young DB's playing - what can we expect from the likes of Allen Grant, Terry Richardson and Delonte Hollowell.

  • Line it Up! - On the offensive line.  Who is playing where and do we have a clear starting unit.  D-line I expect improved play from "Pewee" and Q.Washington.

  • Shouldn't you be at your Prom?  How did the early enrollees do?  Taco, LTT, Bosch, D. Thomas, Butt and Douglass.
Other activities include:

  • Alumni Flag Football game at 11:00
  • Michigan vs. OSU in  lacrosse at 3:30
I used to get pretty excited about the Spring Game but the last few years have been very vanilla and boring.  I don't expect to see a Tate Forcier/Roy Roundtree break out performances but I would like to see a couple examples of the offense that Big Al has been promising.   Don't forget the #1 rule of the Spring Game - DON'T GET HURT!

For those that are going, have fun and stay warm!
