Michigan Tuesday: Recruiting Updates and BBall Opens Tonight

Before we get to the recruiting news, lets recap some of the other news and notes around the program right now:

  • Coach Hoke spoke to the media yesterday and said what you might expect.  MSU plays good defense and it's a great rivalry.   Drew Dileo is questionable for Saturday, they will have to see how he feels during the week.

  • AJ Williams has been suspended for Saturday's game for breaking team rules.  That will not help our blocking on the line of scrimmage.   Williams, 19, was arrested Sunday morning after failing to stop at a stop sign in Oxford, Ohio, and charged with operation of a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and underage drinking, The Blade in Toledo, Ohio, reported.Williams registered a .122 blood-alcohol level in an on-site breath exam, Oxford police told The Blade.

  • The Nebraska Game is a 3:30 kick on either ABC or ESPN.

  • If you are in Crisler Arena tonight you will get a first look at this years edition of the Michigan Wolverines Basketball team as they take on Concordia in an exhibition.   No TV tonight but hopefully we will get to see some highlights.   It's a shame the BTN can't put it on one of their overflow channels.   The big question mark right now is, who will take over the point and the health of McGary's back.

Recruiting Tidbits

Recruiting has been quiet since the season began and for good reason, we need the coaches focused on coaching on not worrying about their travel reward points.   The big news of course is that we are 17 days away from Da'Shawn Hand's decision and he just got back from Alabama last week.  He will take a visit to Florida on the 8th and 9th and make his decision final on the 15th.   There will be plenty of panic between now and then has Da'Shawn is very respectful and will say every trip was wonderful.   I still feel good about him being Blue but anything can happen on the recruiting trail and usually does.

  • Malik McDowell visited OSU this past weekend, he doesn't talk to anyone about his recruitment, so this one continues to be a mystery.

  • Most insiders thought Michigan had stopped recruiting 2014 RB Kalen Ballage but it seems some Michigan coaches visited his school last week and spoke to his coaches.  I guess there is still some interest there.

  • Michigan has been very stingy with 2015 offers but they recently offered cornerback John Reid, who is a current teammate of future Wolverine Jon Runyan Jr..
