Rutgers Preview

Time: 3:30 EST
Location: Big House
Weather: H 53 and Sunny
TV: BTN
Line: Michigan -24.5

That is a big betting line in favor of the Wolverines.  The reason is Rutgers has been struggling on and off the field this season.   If you look at the Big Ten East standing there are 4 teams that are undefeated  or with one loss in conference, Rutgers at 1-4 and the rest of the division is 0-4.

The Rutgers defense gives up 34 points per game, which ranks them 100th in the country.  That is another reason for the big line.

Tale of The Tape

Michigan everything vs. Rutgers everything = Maize and Blue Bruises

I know the above is not ground breaking analysis but it's pretty much the truth.   Rutgers really has two chances in this game.  One is if Rudock can't play and Wilton becomes a turnover machine or Leonte Carroo one of the best WR's in the league can play.   Carroo has been banged up and hasn't practiced this week.  He is a difference maker and could stretch the field for Rutgers if he is healthy and can play.

Let's not forget that Rutgers is 1-0 against the Wolverines as a member of the Big Ten.  (Last year was really terrible wasn't it).   The Wolverines should be ready to even that record and coming off a lackluster performance against the Golden Gophers.

Sing Hail to the Victors if..........................
  • Michigan jumps up big and quick
  • Rudock leaves the Big House 100% healthy for the 2 road games
  • Wilton gets a ton of playing time
  • Michigan rushes for 300 yards on the ground
  • No Turnovers on offense
  • The Michigan defense pitches another shutout
Say, What is going on out there? if...................................
  • Michigan continues to play in a fog
  • Rutgers is stopping the Michigan ground attack
  • The defense is getting thrown on again
  • This game is much closer then it should be

I think this one of the biggest miss-matches Michigan has had since the UNLV game this year.   The only way they stay close is if Carroo goes off and he is questionable to play.   Rutgers did give MSU a game and had a chance to win late.   I don't see how they are going to move the ball on Michigan's defense without a superman performance from Carroo.   I look for big running days from Derrick Green, Drake Johnson and true freshman Higdon.  Michigan gets it's swagger back heading into a 2 game road trip.

Michigan 34 Rutgers 3

i'm not sure if collin cowherd just hates Jim, or if he's pushing his luck trying to create a Jim Rome, Jim Everett reenactment. Maybe the famous ohio 'booster' Bobby DiGeronimo is paying cowherd to be a prick, hoping Jim will bitch slap him and give the media a reason to call for his removal. Before Jim and the Blue of a chance to bitch slap urban and his cuckeyes. lol
