Per Bruce Feldman last night, Tim Drevno has agreed to a 5 year extension. Reports are he will be making $1M a year. Love that Michigan is finally paying their top assistants big money. It's also great that Michigan has locked up both their OC and DC for the next 5 years. This could also be a sign that Michigan will replace Jedd with a WR coach only.
- Early Enrollees (not at the Army AA game) enjoyed a dinner at Harbaugh's house last night. I'm a bit concerned about the size of the recruit on the left side of the table! :-)

- Former Michigan commitment and current OSU CB Gareon Conley is heading to the NFL
- Minnesota fired Tracey Claeys last night. This was and wasn't a surprise. Claeys lead the Golden Gophers to 9 wins this season including a W in the bowl game. His issues seem to come off the field as he supported his players via twitter, which the leadership at Minnesota felt was a disloyal act. I thought PJ Fleck was going to stick at WMU because all the jobs were filled, but he has to be one of the top candidates. I wonder if they will kick the tires on Les or Chip? Which would bring the quiet Minnesota program, a ton of press. PJ is the safe pick.
Recruiting News:
- Michigan will have to hang on to Kai-Leon Herbert who will be taking more visits in January. I hope Coach Drevno stays outside his house all month! We need offensive lineman!
- Speaking of offensive lineman, Chuck Filiaga will announce on Saturday. Michigan really needs this guy and I'm thinking the depth chart should be a big factor for the talented Army AA from Texas.
- There is a chance that 5 star AZ OL Austin Jackson will take a visit to Ann Arbor this month. Most believe he will stay out West and probably USC, but Michigan has pulled a number of surprise commitments in the past and the depth chart has to be interesting to Austin.
- Michigan commit Ambry Thomas CB from Detroit King made the Scouts Top 5 on Day 2 at the Army AA game practice.
- News broke last night that Najee Harris has an Alabama email. I guess any person that has been accepted has one, so no reason to freak out. Don't be fooled though, Bama is still in this recruitment. Good thing they are busy this week.
- Reports are that DT Jay Tufele has also been terrific for two days for the West team.
- Robert Porcher IV will take an official to MSU next week. He was committed to Nebraska and visited Ann Arbor as well.
- I almost forgot, I have updated the commit list to include the guys that are now early enrolled and in the U of M directory. Guys at the Army Game are not in the directory yet.

Sounds like this would be a "good get" if we can pull it off. I LOVE hearing Michigan is trying to land "well established run blockers". We need these guys to POUND THE ROCK!!!
Tedarrell Slaton, OG, Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage School -- the massive five-star offensive lineman worked quite a bit at right tackle and really impressed, especially during 1-on-1's, where the 6-foot-4 1/2, 341-pounder showed surprising lateral mobility to cycle edge rushers harmlessly toward the perimeter. Slaton's ability as a run-blocker is already well-established, and he's already one of the top 35 prospects in the 2017 Scout 300. If he continues to show promising pass-pro skills, he could become a position-versatile prospect instead of strictly an interior mauler.
Looks like Michigan Recruits are looking good at the Army game practices. DPJ & Black getting the shout outs on day 1, and Ambry getting the pub on day 2. GO BLUE!!! Hopefully Najee is paying attention and wants to be part of this group of elite athletes.
So Tagovailou (QB commit to AL) claims he and Najee are on the same flight to AL and they already filled out housing paperwork to room together.....
If they're truly that tight, and Najee wants to keep things on the down low.... wouldn't he be pissed if his buddy leaked this news to the AL reporter? and why only an AL sports writer? Could this just be Tag trying to sway his buddy?
Anticipation sucks. Alabama sucks. Missing out on top recruits sucks!
