Michigan Basketball this season has been difficult to watch. This team has talent and sometimes looks like a top tier college team, then other times it looks like 2:00 at LA Fitness. Yesterday, we got to see both of those squads in one game and the LA Fitness crew lost the game.
There are so many questions:
- Are they better without Hunter?
- Why is the defense so bad at times?
- Why does this team seem to lack basketball IQ?
- Are they just too young?
- Do they lack toughness or a vet that can yell at them?
- Do the assistant coaches need a change?
You can probably think of a 100 more.
I want the team to make it to the NCAA but its just very hard to watch right now.
Michigan Football assistants got nice raises: (all amounts in thousands of course)
- Moore - $550 to $900
- Minter - $900
- Weiss - $600 to $850
- Jay Harbaugh: $415 to $600
- Clink: $600 to $850
- Hart: $415 to $500
- Newsome: $250
- Bellamy: $250
- Elston: $600
If my math is correct that is $5.7M in assistant coaches salary. The above list doesn't include the S&C team, off field coaching staff, recruiting department, and player personnel.

Love that the coaches are getting deserved raises. I always thought consistency among the coaches breads success. Losing coaches every year stunted the growth as a program. (Gattis was no loss, he was vastly overrated and couldn't recruit worth beans).
Either up the buyout or put stipulations into coach's contracts so they can't jump ship at a drop of a dime. Hated seeing D.J. bolt, even Greg Maddison to an extent (still cant figure that one out). Seems like we develop young coaching talent for other teams to benefit. SMH
Madison was a mystery, at least for me...
Bob, Michigan basket ball is just pure garbage this year. I hope they do make the tournament and win at least two games just so I fell better.

Yes. They really only have Brooks and Johns as senior "leaders."

As for a vet that can yell at them, see answer #3.

Don't know. It's a possibility.
