Warde did a good job of hiring Dusty May the top available coaching candidate in the NCAA this year. A job well done.
He also took a shot at his social media critics yesterday. Warde you have done some good things as AD at Michigan but also some head scratching mistakes. We don't need to list them as its a decent size list. With maybe the highest profile, not locking down Jim Harbaugh over the past two years. Yes, he was always interested in returning to the NFL but your lack of relationship and management allowed him to leave. Good leaders don't take shots at its critics when the sun shines on them, bad leaders do.
- Dusty said he is going to hit the portal to rebuild the roster in his introductory press conference.
- Frankie Collins is on the move again, this time leaving ASU
- JJ continues to move up draft boards, many believe its not realistic to think he will still be there at 11.
- Surprised Michigan hasn't hired a DL coach yet. Maybe the AD is busy hiring a Basketball Coach and Sherrone is busy with Spring Practice. I guess they will hire one after Spring Ball.
- Ohio State's Spring Game will also be on Fox. Not sure its a good idea showing Spring Games on national TV.

Maybe I'm too critical of Warde, but his hiring of Dusty May can be filed under "even a blind squirrel will find a nut". What else has he done? That wasn't the safe or easy way to go? Sherrone Moore? That was safe and what many wanted for the continuity of the football program? Ok, I was good with that. Hiring Tracy Smith to replace Bakich? Pretty much first guy that came available. Search took about 15 minutes. Hockey: Naurato to replace Pearson? Again safe and easy, promote an assistant. Softball: Tholl replacing Hutchins? Again, promoting an assistant. Now sometimes promoting from within is the way to go, but it had been a trend with Manual. Lets not get into all the scandals under his watch. Him keeping receipts is like a baseball player going 0 for 50, then hitting a HR on his 51 at bat and screaming "who's da man now"
Bob- Harbaugh was going to leave regardless. Move on.
I don't know that Harbaugh would have moved on regardless. But also don't know that his moving on is all that bad - some of the assistants leaving is more troubling to me.
Chowman, I'm convinced more than ever Warde is a joke. Responding to taunts on social media is something my 19yo daughter doesn't even do any more. Seriously, grow up Warde, you douche.
I'm mixed on the Warde rebuttal shots. 20 years ago, high profile people were out of reach from comments and criticism. Today, in the age of social media, no one can escape what others are thinking. Musicians tweet, movie stars tweet, even presidential candidates tweet. Warde's comments are just a sign of the times, for better or worse.
Possible Dusty May assistant coaching staff rumors include LaVall Jordan, Bill Armstrong, Adam Howard, and John Beilein, per Twitter.
George Washington III is open to the possibility of returning after talking with Dusty.
