Big Ten Week 4 Preview

Friday games are back this week and it's a sneaky good one when Illinois travels to Nebraska for a classic Big Ten West match-up.  I expected more Big Ten matchups this week but it seems the non-conference games continue.

Friday:

Illinois @ Nebraska (-7.5): This is actually a ranked match-up as both are ranked 24 and 22.  Nebraska has an upstart 5 star true freshman playing well at QB.  This will be his first test.  Illinois 17 Nebraska 24

Saturday:

Marshall @ Ohio State (-40): Yikes! OSU 55 Marshall 7

Charlotte @ Indiana (-28.5): Go Biff Go! IU might be one of those sneaky good teams again.   IU 30 Charlotte 13

Villanova @ Maryland (-17.5): Prefer to watch this one on a basketball court.  Maryland 28 Villanova 8

Kent State @ Penn State (-49.5):  Wow this is a lopsided game.  PSU 60 Kent State 6

UCLA @ LSU (-24):  I don't think UCLA is very good.  LSU is average but better then UCLA.  LSU 38 UCLA 12

Rutgers @ Virginia Tech (-3.5): Tune into the ACC Network if you want to enjoy this one.  VT 20 Rutgers 17

Northwestern @ Washington (-10.5): Both teams are 2-1 and Northwestern has in their contract they only play games with lake views.  Northwestern 10 Washington 21

Iowa @ Minnesota (-2.5): This is the NBC Night Game.  Cade and Iowa has not preformed well in Primetime.  I think Iowa finds away to win on defense.  Iowa 17 Minnesota 14

MSU @ BC (-6.5):  This is match-up between new head coaches at new programs.  BOB has a nice win over FSU and MSU as one over Maryland.  Sneaky good game, this one is also on the ACC Network.   BC 23 MSU 21

Purdue at Oregon State  (-4.5): on the CW.  Purdue 7 OSU 20

Illinois or Nebraska will be outside teams looking in to get into the playoff

Not sure how good IU is, but they play hard. It's a reflection of their coach, Curt Cignetti is a redass! He won't tolerate a lack of effort. We also should see how tough MSU really is as BC should give them a punch in the mouth. Finally it'll be interesting to see who's worse Washington or NW. Both are on our schedule. NW was expected to be bad, so if they beat or give Washington a game then the Huskies are probably bad as well.

I'd pump the brakes on that a bit. Neither have played anyone with a pulse. Nebraska has OSU and USC on the schedule. Illinois has Oregon and PSU. Be tough to make the playoffs if you lose to every ranked team on your schedule.
