So who are you rooting for on Sunday? Cover Boy and potentially 19-0 Tom Brady or ultra professional Amani Toomer?
As I'm sure all our readers know, both of these high profile starters on Sunday played their college football at Michigan. What you might not know is the other Michigan players that are on the rosters of the two teams playing on Sunday:
New England:
- Matt Guiterrez, QB #7 (spent 3 years at Michigan before a bad shoulder injury 3 days before his first start opened the door to the Chad Henne era, he transferred and played his final year at Idaho State) Matt was not drafted and signed as a free agent
- Pierre Woods, LB #58 (Mostly a special teamer) Pierre was also not drafted and signed as a free agent
New York:
- Amani is the only former Wolverine on the Giants
What? How can that be? What is going on over there?
I know the Patroits are a favorite to win on Sunday but for Giants to have only one Michigan man is just un-thinkable.
I'm afraid the only chance the Giants have is if Butch Woolfolk, John Powers, Ali Haji-Sheikh, Jumbo Elliott, Jarrod Bunch, Tyrone Wheatley, Andre Weathers, Dhani Jones (still playing), and Charles Drake all come out of retirement and suit up for the Giants again. (Each player was drafted by the Giants from 1981 - present)
