Michigan's Recruiting Shamrock Shake

  • Cincinnati Moeller's 6-3, 225-pound defensive end Marcus Rush. Was offered a Michigan scholarship this past weekend after he visited for junior day. Can you imagine a better name for a DE then "Rush"?

  • ESPN's Bruce Feldman is high on Michigan's young offensive line prospects: Last year, Rich Rodriguez was patient and redshirted seven promising O-linemen. The best of the bunch might be Patrick Omameh, an unheralded sleeper recruit from Ohio State's backyard. Omameh's now a 280-pounder with the agility of a tight end and just one of many reasons for Michigan fans to think they could be challenging for the Big Ten title in 2010.

  • In-state prospects that visited Michigan this weekend for junior day include: Cass Tech cornerback Dior Mathis and safety Daniel Easterly, Warren Mott defensive end C.J. Olaniyan, Livonia Stevenson running back Austin White, Warren Fitzgerald linebacker Austin Gray, Saline running back Nick Hill and Renaissance teammates Ishmael Thomas and Mylan Hicks.

  • 2010 QB Devin Gardner has verbally committed to the Wolverine coaches but he is going to wait to make his official announcement/press conference until his basketball season is over.

  • MSU Football Player Mitchell White has been sentenced to 30 days in jail, $500 fine, 2 years of probation, and 80 hours of community service for the fight he got in with a MSU hockey player this past October.

  • Bill Davidson: Many of you know already that Pistons owner Bill Davidson passed away this past weekend. Some of you may not know that, that Bill was the richest man in the state of Michigan, ran track at U of M, and was paying some of Tommy Amaker's salary when he was at Michigan. I also know Rich Rod and Bill took in a Pistons game together last year. So maybe he was involved in RR's financial package some way?
