I want to send a personal/public thank you to David Brandon. In a time where corporate greed is out of control it's nice to see somebody do something that isn't about the money. Many of you know already that Dave stepped down from being the CEO of Domino's Pizza to take over the Michigan Athletic Department earlier this month.
What really strikes me about him taking the job is the pay cut he took. David took about a $2 Million a year pay cut to become the AD at Michigan. I’m wondering how many of us would have done the same thing? $2 Mill a year?
I know being the AD at Michigan is a great job and one many of us would have jumped at in a New York Minute, but coming with such a big pay cut? Heck, like Bob said here a few weeks ago. Both John Beilein and Rich Rodriguez will make more then Dave at Michigan and Dave is their boss!
So Thank You Dave! Thank you for doing something for the love of Michigan! Thank you for not thinking about your salary! Thank you for stepping in at one of the lowest times in Michigan Athletic history and trying to make a difference. Thank you for everything, Dave. It's very clear you are the right person for the job!
