The Dorsey Debate Continues: Is he In or Out at Michigan?

We have known since signing day that 5 star DB Demar Dorsey was a question mark in qualifying at Michigan.  He got into some trouble as a kid but was never formally charged and the rumors were he had borderline grades.

Everyday someone asks Sam Webb (Detroit News and Michigan Insider via Scouts) on his radio show, whether Demar is qualified or not.  Each day he gives an answer that sounds something like this.  "At this point, it's not looking good for Michigan, I have nothing official but Demar could end up playing at a JUCO, another school, or Michigan in the Fall".   That is not a direct quote, but that is the party line he has been keeping.

On today's show Sam hinted that Dorsey maybe could end up at another BCS School like Louisville or FSU.  Here is my take on trying to de-code this situation: 1 - Dorsey might have the grades to get by the NCAA Clearinghouse but not the Michigan admissions office - last year they denied admission to Denard Robinson's teammate Adrian Witty due to a "risky" increase in a test score, after Witty didn't enroll in the Fall and tried to get his grades/test scores up.   Witty is now playing for RR's friend and former assistant Butch Jones at Cincinnati.

2-DD might have the grades but not the test scores?  Dorsey might have qualified via grade point but not have a qualifying SAT or ACT score.

3- This whole thing could work out and he could be at Michigan this summer.  There have been 2 recruits under RR at Michigan that haven't made it to campus after they have signed: Marcus Witherspoon ( a LB from NJ) and for mentioned Witty.  There has also been a guy that was borderline that did make it in and that was 5 star DB from Ohio, JT Turner.

So we continue to speculate, but only DD and RR know the real answers.................
