Michigan gets it's 5th Commitment for 2011: Chris Rock

Chris Rock is coming to Ann Arbor!  Get your tickets today!

Hold the phone, it's not the world class comedian.  It's Chris Rock a 6'5 250 pound TE/DE from Columbus, Ohio.  That's right Columbus.  Chris is rated 3 stars by Scouts and on Rivals 250 Watch List (they haven't come out with their star rankings yet).

Does everyone hate Chris?  Not exactly.  Chris has a long offer sheet from some pretty large programs like: BC, Wisconsin, Stanford, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Oregon, Louisville, Nebraska, WVU and many more.  To me this looks like a 4 star offer sheet and clearly one of the top players in Ohio, I would say top 5.

Chris has been to Ann Arbor a number of times.  I spotted him at the Western Michigan game last year and  he was in town for the Night of Champions and the BBQ at the Big House.  He took his time and clearly picked Michigan over the long list of other offers he had.  Michigan projects him at the DE spot and is probably looking like a redshirt year unless he can make a similar impact as a Craig Roh has on Greg Robinson's defense.  With now 2 DE's in this class, I would think Michigan will have closed that spot out with more focus on DT, LB, and DB's for the rest of this class on defense.
