Michigan Tuesday: More Manning Talk

"I'm excited to come back home to the University of Michigan," Manning said in a statement released by the school. "I played and went to school here, and there is no place like it, anywhere."

"We always knew if there was ever an opportunity to bring him back, we would love to," Michigan coach Brady Hoke said in a statement. "We think he's one of the top young coaches in our profession. He knows our expectations."

“Coach Manning is a great guy on top of everything but is also a guy who clearly has a deep passion for Michigan football and for the sport in general,” Omameh said. “[He’s] very willing to help out a player with needs or questions and has a head for the game.”

Article quotes from here.

The feedback on the hire seems very positive.  What I'm excited about is he will be coaching the outside linebackers and doing a ton of recruiting.   Michigan had 3 coaches last year working on the D-line (Hoke, Mattison and Montgomery).   I also like a former Michigan player is back to coach in Ann Arbor.  We need more of that.

  • Mitch McGary embraces a learning disorder

  • If Michigan has any shot at a regular season title they need OSU to upset #2 IU tonight.  The loses to Penn State and the Hail Mary from Wisconsin continues to taste very bad.

  • The expected #1 ranked player in the 2014 class Da'Shawn Hand will be visiting Ann Arbor March 15-17.

  • Consider Stauskas "questionable" for Wednesday game at Purdue.  There hasn't been any confirmation if he suffered a concussion or not.   We know he needed 12 stiches.

  • Michigan is ranked #7 and #8 in the nation now.
