Wolverine Wednesday: The 2015 Commits Come in Pairs

Michigan landed their first commitment to the 2015 class on Monday when Kicker Andrew David jumped on board the Wolverine train.   Now Michigan has added their second and first legacy player of the 2015 class in Jon Runyan Jr. from Philly.

Many of you will remember Jon Runyan who played for the Wolverines in the mid 90's, played 14 years in the NFL and is now a US Congressman.   I really enjoy when the sons of former players come back to Ann Arbor to play.   Not only does it build a legacy, but it also shows how special U of M and Ann Arbor really is.

“I just have a love for the school and football program and how nice the coaches are there,” Runyan said. “It’s overall a great place.”

Jon is around 6'4 and 250 pounds (his dad ended up being 6'7 330) and might still have some room to grow during his junior and senior years.   The only service to rank 2015 prospects is 24/7 who has rated Jon as a 3 star prospect.

I also have to mention that Brady Pallante will also be considered a 2015 commit since he is really part of the 2014 class but is gray shirting and will use a scholarship from the 2015 class.

The rumor right now is the 2015 class is going to be another small one and maybe around 16-17 kids.

  • Michigan added another 2013 walk-on in Maple City (MI) Glen Lake defensive end/linebacker Mike O'Brien.  He was the Defensive Player of the Year in the Northwest Conference and First Team All-Region.

  • Remember Denzel Ward?  He committed to Purdue recently.  His recruitment continues to be a very strange one.
