Two guys that are a bit of a reach for the Wolverines are Glenville's duo of Marshon Lattimore and Erick Smith.   Both guys are considered heavy OSU leans but Michigan might have a shot for two reasons.  #1 Michigan is awesome and #2 they might be full at Safety which is Erick's primary position.  Per Mgoblog via Scouts $$ article:

Marshon: On Michigan: “It was my first time out there," he stated. "It was nice. I’m considering them, too. It was everything. It was just the coaches, everyone was laid back. It’s like a team up there. It was nice to see the chill side of the coaches and see how they really are outside of football. I liked it.”

Erick:  "It was my first time being at Michigan," he added. "It was actually better than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed myself. All the coaches were there. Coach [Brady] Hoke was a lot more active than I thought he would be. I got to establish a relationship with the coaches. They were down to earth. I feel I could fit in there."

  • Remember Jonathan Hilliman who was considering Michigan before the coaches told him they were not recruiting that position any longer?  He had OSU, Alabama, Wisconsin and other offers, committed to Rutgers yesterday.  Rutgers is his hometown team.

  • 2014 CB Parrker Westphal might win the "2014 award for waiting too long" award.  As we know the past few years many recruits always thought there would be a spot for them and then it fills up with a quick commitment for a someone else at that position.   Most recruiting insiders now believe Parrker will not end up at Michigan but maybe Northwestern or Vandy.   There was a time when Parrker seemed to be a lock for the Wolverines, but the coaches are no longer recruiting the CB position and it seems they are more interested in other Safety prospects.

  • Will it be down year for talent in the State of Michigan for the 2015 class?  Hard to say at this point but the only player from Michigan to make the Scouts top 100 is Saginaw athlete Brian Cole.   There are 6 prospects in the top 300.

We will have content this weekend!  Come back on Saturday for the WR and TE preview!
