Michigan Friday: The Future is Now

First, let me address a question that came in the comments:  Can Devin transfer under the "Russell Wilson" rule and not have to sit out a year?  The answer is yes, he can.  He has graduated and would need to find a program with a masters program that is not offered in Ann Arbor.   The chances he does that is near 0%.  He is a Michigan guy and will be the starter next year, even if Shane lights the world on fire on Saturday night.

If Shane does well tomorrow, I think his redshirt next year would be off the table and they would have some type of two QB rotation next year.

Good news from Bowl Practice for younger players from Mlive:

Did you know that Poggi has been injured all year?  I sure didn't:

"This poor guy, he had two months where he couldn't do anything, and then he hurt his shoulder after that," defensive coordinator Greg Mattison said of Poggi. "All of a sudden, now, he's healthy. And the things we saw when we recruited him, you're seeing on the field.

Sounds like Maurice is becoming a player:

"Maurice Hurst has really shown up in these practices," Mattison added. "He's a guy, you go 'wow, this guy can really move.' I think you're going to see some exciting things from him."

Looks like we will be seeing a bit more of Dymonte Thomas in the bowl game:

"The thing with Dymonte, you can put him at a position now (and leave him there)," Mattison said this week. "We've worked him a lot at nickel, and he came (Tuesday) with blitz, and we were like 'wow, that's what we're looking for.'  "For him, it's important to settle in at one position and just become as good as he can be right there."

After a season like 2013, every die-hard fan has hopes and dreams for some miracle-cure... Aren't we all hoping for Shane Morris to wake up tomorrow morning and be Tom Brady?
Whatever happens, I hope we don't end up with a 2 QB rotation next year. It seems that having 2 QB's never allows the offsense to gel and have any chemistry.... we did that all year with only 1 QB.

GO BLUE!
