Michigan Friday: The Tour Is Already Paying Off

Rock star Jim Harbaugh as you know is out for his summer tour.  His first stop in Indy yesterday, already has had a positive impact on the Wolverines as 150 kids attended and one prospect committed.

Recent visitor and 3 star Indiana athlete Kiante Enis committed to the Wolverines during the camp.   Enis is a familiar name and is related to the former Penn State running back, Curtis Enis.  Kiante is an impressive RB as well, he ran for 3,189 yards and 49 touchdowns on 299 carries last season.    Kiante is know for his speed and is another "flex" guy that could play a number of positions for the Wolverines.

Kiante offer list included the MAC Schools, Iowa, MSU and of course the Wolverines.  His interest from major schools started to grow recently as he ran electronically timed 10.53 second 100-meter dash.   That is some speed folks.  Enis is also considered a mid-major basketball recruit as well.   So the term "athlete" here is legit.  He is 6'2 and 190 pounds.

If Kiante attends some camps this summer and shows that speed, look for his ranking to sky rocket.

  • Today's tour stop is in Alabama, with an expected 300 kids in attendance.  Saturday is in Tampa and a night camp in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami.

  • AD Jim Hackett said he expects the new Michigan apparel contract to be the largest in the nation.   Reports are that UA recently bid $15M a year for Texas.   With Nike's largest contract at somewhere near $5M a year, I think this means a UA or Adidas decision.

  • 4 star DE Josh King is expected to announce this morning.  He has Michigan in his top 5.

  •  DE/LB Khalid Kareem set his announcement date for June 24th

  • Another IN athlete Chis Evans was expected to announce on Saturday and then wasn't.   He attended the camp in Indy yesterday and may now announce soon.
