Wolverine Wednesday: Wants WrestleMania In The Big House

You just have to love Jimmy.  Here are a couple of comments he made on 97.1 after learning that Ford Field is being considered as a location for WrestleMania.

“Why not the Big House?” Harbaugh said, according to CBS Detroit blog, after he called back. “Why not? 140,000 I bet we could get in there for WrestleMania. They’re trying to break the attendance record at Jerry Jones’ Stadium in Dallas. A great Canadian presence in wrestling. Why not Michigan and the Big House?”

It was suggested to Harbaugh by a show producer that he referee a Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan match.
“I’m in,” he said, according to the blog.

“Who doesn’t like a good wrestling match?” he said.

“I’d be one of those guys coming out with a towel, waving the towel,” he said. “I’ll be a corner man.”

The man is full of great ideas.  Though Rick and Hulk might be in their 60's now.

  • The internet rumor mill is suggesting that Michigan punter Blake O'Neil has blown out his ACL and has been seen at practice in a knee brace.  There has been no confirmation from anyone at U of M of an injury to the graduate transfer senior.   Kenny Allen is the back-up punter and would play if Blake could not go.

  • In recruiting news I didn't know, Kareem Walker and Rashan Gary are very close.    Rashan may make another trip to A2 in January, just so Kareem could host him.    Let's hope the first month on campus for Kareem goes really well, because you know Rashan will be in his ear on what A2 and the campus is like.

  • Memo to Purdue:  Chip Kelly is now available - good luck!

  • I left TE Jacob Mathis off the UA Michigan prospect list yesterday.  His does have an offer but most expect Jacob to end up at Florida.

You have to wonder if USC and SC's ADs are kicking themselves for filling their HC seats so quickly.. Kevin Sumlin might be looking for a realtor.

Clemson suspends three players, two of which are starters and key contributors... Meanwhile Ezekiell Elliot gets busted driving with a suspended license, causing an accident involving personal injury, and will be playing. He didn't know his license was suspended, no one told him you have to pay the fine when you get a speeding ticket. I wouldn't blame urban if he didn't want his kid playing for ohio state, with the 'character issues' in their locker room.

@Scott K...I was going to post how both USC's have to be kicking themselves for rushing to fill their HC vacancies. Kelly is a fish out of water in the NFL, but he is a great FBS coach and definitely better than Helton and Muschamp. Unless another NFL team offers him a deal, he is stuck in a TV gig or chilling at home for a year.

Assuming Kelly sits out for a year, I think there are four potential jobs that are on the hot seat heading into 2016 interest him...
-Texas: I like Strong, but Texas is a hot mess right now. 2016 is the make or break year for Strong.
-Auburn: Malzahn's record is trending in the wrong direction kind of like Michigan under Hoke.
-Texas A&M: At $5 mil per the results should be better than slightly above average.
-Oregon State: OSU is a very young team, but Kelly is a better coach than Anderson, they have a chance to stick it to Oregon, and with such young players Kelly can really mold them.

I had Oklahoma beating Clemson before players were suspended. I think it would be an upset (sounds crazy since Clemson is #1) if Clemson beat Oklahoma at this point. All I care about is Alabama beating Michigan State. It would be a great end to 2015 if Alabama destroyed Michigan State. On one final note, I am not surprised Meyer is looking the other way with Elliot's issues. I'm not buying he didn't know you have to pay a fine when you get a speeding ticket.
