Michigan Thursday: Big Ten Football Starts Tonight!

It's been a long time since I can remember a conference game being played the first official weekend of the season or on a Thursday night prior.   Tonight, OSU will travel to IU to kick off the Big Ten and the start of the college football season.   The Buckeyes are a 3+ TD favorite and this game isn't expected to be close.   Kevin Wilson, the new OSU OC is the former head coach in Bloomington.

Why you should watch?

  • It's freaking Big Ten Football!
  • Scout OSU
  • IU has been known to play well from time to time (see John O'Korn Snow game or should we shorten it to just Jon Snow?)
  • OSU has struggled in Bloomington in the past
  • ESPN and national TV doesn't come to IU very often for a football game
  • Did I mention it was Big Ten Football?
The suspensions keep coming for the Florida Gators football team.  Now their top RB is suspended from all team activities for that credit card fraud that many players were involved in.   There are even some rumors that there might be more suspensions coming.   Redshirt Freshman QB Feleipe Franks has also been named the starter.   He is more of a drop back passer then Zaire or Del Rio.

Warning!  Let's not get too fooled about these suspensions and a brand new QB that has never played a college football game.   This team (for the most part) blew out Iowa in the bowl game and will have athletes to replace the suspended players.  (I still like our chances on Saturday)

I would have loved to have heard what ND transfer QB Malik Zaire said when he learned of the decision to start Franks.   I'm sure he will see plenty of playing time after Franks tries to figure out a Don Brown defense.  Mr. Franks meet Mr. Gary, Mr. Hurst, Mr. Winovich, and Mr. Kemp.

Enjoy tonight!

I think JmaC-shark is planning to use one of his other two QB's for about 1/2 the game..... naming Franks as starter knowing his game is much different than the other two could be gamesmanship, throw a curve at last minute prep/game planning.

After all....when you're playing down almost a dozen guys, including your best WR and RB, what do you have to lose?

CHOOT'M CLETUS!

GO BLUE

PS.... Hoosiers, you got this.... you can do it, shock the world.
