Michigan Tuesday: A Better Time

Michigan gets to play on Thursday at the house that Kobe built in LA (Staples Center).   The tip off is a much better time for the Wolverines and its fans.  The tip is at 7:37 EST or 4:37 local time in LA.   I don't know if you can correlate the late start times for Michigan's poor shooting this past weekend, but I'm sure it didn't help.

Many Michigan fans were excited about Texas A&M beating UNC this past weekend as North Carolina beat the Wolverines handily earlier in the year at Chapel Hill.   I was thinking just the opposite.   Having Coach B game plan against a team he has already seen, I believe was an advantage for the Michigan.  The team is also completely different then it was prior to the Big 10 season and UNC is one of the worst 3 point defending teams in the nation.    I thought that was a better formula for a Wolverines win.   Now we get Texas A&M who maybe had one of the best games of the weekend as they blew out UNC on Sunday in Charlotte.

Should be a great game and I hope Jordan Poole woke up the Wolverines shooting touch.

  • Speaking of Wolverines heading out West - Moe Ways will finish his career playing at CAL as a Golden Bear.  Good luck to a good guy! I hope he can find A WAY for football to pay for a Michigan under grad degree and a CAL masters degree.  As Fleetwood Mac always said," You can go your Moe Way, Go your Moe Ways"

  • The nation's #1 player Ohio's five-star defensive end Zach Harrison spent Saturday in Ann Arbor with Don Brown, Greg Mattison and new coach Al Washington.

  • Purdue's NC dreams took a pretty big hit, when Andre The Giant/Isaac Haas fractured his elbow in the first round.  Isaac wants to play and the NCAA has very clear rules on what type of brace you can and can't wear.   The Purdue engineering program is working on finding a solution before Friday's game against Texas Tech.   I would play the Big Man (as long as he can't hurt his elbow any worse) and just let him play defense and rebound if he can get both hands over his head.  On a side note, there was a great 30 for 30 on Sunday on what a great brother he is to his younger sister who suffers from devastating seizures.

  • CT 2019 four-star safety Tyler Rudolph will take an official visit to Ann Arbor in June.

On a side note, I do like the new rule on letting kids take official visits outside of the football season, sure they don't get to go to a game, but they can really focus on getting to know the coaches and seeing the important aspects of the University.   I always wondered how much time the coaches can spend with recruits during game day or before.
