Michigan Thursday: Basketball Workouts and A Commit Is Now a 4 Star

Charles Matthews has a decision to make in about a week.  On or before May 30th he will need to make a decision about staying in the NBA Draft or going back to Michigan.   He has been working out with NBA team and with the latest workout for the Nuggets said the following:

“Really just trying to wear all my options out,” Matthews said while attending a workout with the Denver Nuggets this week. “Basically go through all of the workouts that I have scheduled and just reconcile with my family and do what we feel is best. …
“It has been really good, especially if I do come back to school,” Matthews said. “Get some good experience to know what this process is like. If I choose to stay in, raise my confidence overall.

I would be shocked if he stayed in the draft, because I don't think he would be drafted and if he were it would be in the second round.  Which is pretty much a free ticket to the G-League.  (Which some are considering better NBA training then college basketball)

Speaking of workouts: Duncan Robinson had a workout with the Lakers this week.  Unfortunately, he doesn't have any eligibility left and will look to get a summer league invite or maybe head overseas.

  • Michigan OT commit Karsen Barnhart is now a 4 star on 24/7.   His recent camp performances raised his ranking.

  • George Karlaftis, DE from West Lafayette who committed to Purdue but still is flirting with Michigan and will probably do an official, is now the #12 ranked player in the nation.

  • Less then a 100 days out, Michigan is still a 1 point favorite against ND.
