I have railed all week, that Western or Arkansas should have been the week 1 opponent in the Big House. It's time for me to move on as my anger is not healthy for anyone around me.
I actually watched a lot of the Western - Syracuse game last week because it started at 6:00 on Friday and I was very thirsty for college football.
Tale of the Tape:
Michigan Defense vs. WMU Offense = Mich
Michigan Offense vs. WMU Defense = Mich
Potential for Hangover = Mich
Nothing to lose = WMU
Western Michigan takes the approach of a ton of smaller schools. They look to out score you on offense and hope the defense can get a couple stops a game. Western's offense struggled early in the game against Syracuse until they exploded for 28 points in the 3rd quarter.
They will try to spread Michigan's defense out and light up the scoreboard. If they do this early, it would be good for the Wolverines confidence.
If you see Warde at the Big House, make sure you thank him for being such a poor negotiator.
Yell, Can we have week 1 back? if...…………………
- Michigan's offense looks better
- Michigan has 150+ yards rushing
- Michigan's offense line is able to block defensive ends
- Michigan's DB's are better
- Michigan gets 4 sacks.
Yell, this isn't going well if...…………………….
- Drake Harris looks like a 4 star WR that should be at Michigan
- Western Michigan is able to move the ball through the air
- Michigan has to punt
- Michigan's defense continues to struggle
- Michigan's offense doesn't put up 40+ points
The best thing to move on from a tough loss is getting a win. It will be interesting to see what type of team the Wolverines put on the field on Saturday afternoon. Will there be a ND hangover or will Michigan show up and roll over a lesser opponent?
There is plenty to fix from week 1 and I expect to see major improvements. If we don't, that is a major problem. Try some new guys at tackle and lets see what Shea can do through the air and Higdon/Evans on the ground. The defense started to get their sea legs in the second half, but ND went ultra-conservative because they felt Michigan was over-matched by ND's defense.

Is it safe to say that unless michigan plays at 11 at the big house they are probably going to lose? Is that where this team is?
If Michigan wins this game by 50 points or hundred it would tell us nothing about our team until we play the big boys

3 things I want to see...
-Offensive play calling that focuses on Patterson and his strengths;
-Defense to start strong;
-The entire team to play at a high intensity for the entire game.
They played well. I think Patterson is getting into a rhythm. Throws were accurate, and good option calls. Still need the WR to get open faster and create better separations. Overall good game. This should have been our first game and ND our 2nd or 3rd. Defense looked pretty good, some mental errors.
Do do you need to stop sleeping alright wake up we just played Western Michigan and you think we look good?...how did we look against the big boy when we played ND..... it doesn't matter when we played Notre Dame they won that was their first game how come we didn't win our first game
For those wondering how good ND is well they struggled with Ball State & won with nearly the same score as the michigan ND game. Not sure what that says about Michigan. Great win today though. Glad to see michigan didnt struggle.

Abu - you need to calm down. You are filing this post with so many of your own replies it is - frankly - getting old.
You attack anyone that seems even remotely positive towards Michigan. Is Michigan back? No. Are we a top 5 team? No.
But we looked better today than last week. Heck, you predicted 27-17. So they did a lot better than you thought.
Remember. This is a Michigan blog. People - for the most part will be at lest half way positive towards Michigan. If you want to continue to spew your hatred towards Harbaugh or continue to post multiple posts that are out of touch with everyone else I recommend you go to another blog. You are a smart guy. Maybe create your own blog. Why don’t you consider creating a hating harbaugh blog and give us the address and then continue answering your thoughts with your thoughts on that post?
I'm not hating on Michigan I love Michigan just as much as you do or even more I'm just being honest... I'm just giving you the other side the reality side most of you guys are not seeing the reality in la-la land thinking that we are Powerhouse team
For us to be a Powerhouse team Jimmy needs to be more aggressive and take chances and open up his Playbook
Abu - no one on this Blog (including Bob) has stated we are elite or powerhouse. Saying a team is improving is different than saying a powerhouse. You need to understand that difference.
This is a Michigan blog. You need to stop attacking anyone that states something positive.
And...please stop commenting on your comments. No one is asking for your thoughts or opinions. If you reply to a post and no one asks you a question then don’t reply again to that strand. If you want to continue your hatred of Harbaugh Michigan - again - I suggest you start your own blog.
I love this blog and insights Bob offers and many thoughts by various readers. If you continue attacking people and posting 4 times more than others then I, like many here, will stop commenting or reading comments. Which will take away from the blog (in my opinion). But that option seems better than reading what you have to say. You are not the appointed rebuttal writer. Frankly - right now you are annoying and most readers wish you would stop posting.

It seems like there are a lot of young boys in here who can't face the truth and reality of our football team.... I will stop writing here and I'm sorry if I offended anyone... that was not my intention my intention was to give you the reality the current status of our team I did not want anyone to have a high expectation like I had for past 7-8 years but only tohe end with a disappointment... so I'm sorry if I offended anyone.... Bob I love this blog I always take your word to be honest and you always give the most accurate information....
