Big Ten Week 6 Preview and Some Don Brown Coach Speak

Not a great weekend for Big Ten premier games.   In fact, there really isn't any.  So picking a Big Ten game of the week is going to be difficult.

Big Ten Game of The Week:

Iowa @ Minnesota (Iowa -7):  Minnesota rows the boat much better at home then they do on the road and Iowa is always a sneaky good team.   This game might be for the runner up in the Big Ten West as most believe Wisconsin will be the team to beat in that division.  I think Iowa is the much better team.  Iowa 21 Minnesota 10

Indiana @ Ohio State (OSU -26.5):  OSU beat Penn State because they have a coach who doesn't understand game day strategy.   Urban Meyer might be not understand what it means to be a leader off the field, but is great when it comes to understanding where his team needs to improve.  He knows he was a couple plays away from losing that game and that drives him crazy.  IU is going to take the brunt of that frustration this weekend.  OSU 48 IU 14

Northwestern @ Michigan State (MSU -10.5):  Northwestern is better then its record and MSU really hasn't been impressive at all this year.   If Northwestern didn't have a State of Michigan phobia, I think they could upset the Spartans.  Low scoring game.  MSU 17 NW 14

Illinois @ Rutgers (Ill -4.5):  Lots of point but not a lot of good football.   Illinois 34 Rutgers 21

That's it folks!

  • Don Brown said a few interesting this during his press conference (bold is mine): You end up in a football game and you’re in a dogfight and you wake up and you’re down 17-0 on the road. Ok? So you look at that and say, ‘Alright, that’s not a good thing.’ And it’s not ok. Wake Up is right!   On the slats in the NW game:   So I’m not gonna stand here and say, geez we did a great job. But they completed 3-of-5 for 23 yards in the first half, 2-of-4 for 22 yards in the second half. ---- We’ve played two Big Ten games, ok? We have 10 sacks and 24 TFLs, but we don’t get held. Take a look and compare that with the other teams in our league, ok? So, that one’s a little tough.  Hello, Big Ten we have an issue here!  Sorry we missed that one is not going to do it anymore!  Come on Warde!

Bob can you shed some inside light on investigation that is going on with NCAA men's basketball. It looks like some big name coaches could be getting fired. Thanks!
