Michigan Monday: It Might Be Basketball Season Already

I have been a vocal non-supporter of how Wade does business.  He completely messed up the Harbaugh situation and has made other high profile mistakes.  Hiring Dusty was not one of them.  Dusty for all accounts has gotten to Ann Arbor and gotten to work.  He rebuilt the team through the transfer portal and some lucky fans got to see a preview of that team on Sunday as Michigan played Oakland in an exhibition game at Little Caesars.    Michigan won the game 92-48.  Sure it was just an exhibition but Michigan had 5 players in double figures and two others with 9 and 8 points respectively.   I always get too excited about the basketball team early, but there seems to be solid evidence that feeling is warranted this year.

Back to football.  This is Michigan State Week and both teams are not great.  Michigan might be worse coming off another embarrassing offensive effort and MSU beating Iowa at home handily.  One of the best games of the year was on vs. MSU/IOWA so I didn't see a snap of that game.

If the heat is not on Sherrone now having the worst offense in division 1 football, guess what is coming if they lose to Sparty in the Big House on Saturday night.  On the flip side, Kalen DeBoer and Lincoln Riley might be available.

MSU:  4-3
Best win: Maryland on the road
Worst Loss: BC

Pass: 233 (67th)
Run: 133 (90th)
Score: 21.6 (111)
Give up: 20.9 (39th)

It seems Cade got pulled in the MSU game for the backup and Sparty kicked 6 field goals.  I'm sure NBC ratings went through the roof.  This game will be ugly for both sides as Michigan tries to hold on to any resemblance of a season and Sparty plays their Super Bowl.  Not a good combination for the home team.

Michigan is another head scratching -5 favorite.
  • Ronnie Bell all most scored on Sunday but had a knee down.  I wonder what his brother is up to?
  • Blake had 3 rushes for 11 yards
  • Metellus almost beat The Lions singlehandedly.  Damn, he is really good.
  • It's Harbaugh night on ESPN, I don't think putting Jimmy on ESPN + tonight is going to work out for ESPN.
  • Chaundee is hooping it up in Japan!
  • Michigan got a WR commit on Thursday night.  Welcome Jaylen Pile a 3/4 star WR from Dallas!  Jaylen is the 3rd commit to the 2026 class.

Hire Curt Cignetti. Guys been a winner everywhere he's been. To quote Teddy KGB, "Pay the man his money."

I thought same thing! Bring on Coach Cignetti.

I'm resigning myself to hate watching. I want them to lose so Warde has no choice but to fire Moore and the entire staff. Some have said "no way he's firing Sherrone Moore after 1 year". Ok, but some of those same people said Warde was giving Juwan another season to try turning it around. Other's don't think he's got the chops to bring in a top tier football coach. Ok, but who thought we'd land Dusty May? I just don't want to watch anymore of this going into next year. If Moore is back in 2025, I'm out!

If Moore is back, you're going to lose players, boosters, and most of the fan base. I dont buy into, Oh he deserves time to build his program. That's b.s. He was given an opportunity and failed miserably. If Warde doesn't recognize that, then he might need to go, too.

I'm going to a Halloween party Saturday and will probably miss my first UM-MSU game since i was 6 years old. Prob for my own good! Lol

Cignetti is a former QB and has an offensive mind. He'd build a team that's fun to watch. He's making $4 mil right now at Indiana, so Wardes gonna have to open up the checkbook to get him.

Several thoughts, this team I think is getting worse or is it just me?!? Right now I don't think changing the qb would help much, if at all. MSU is at the top of my hate list (ND and OSU are 2nd and 3rd) I have a bad feeling I'm going to be severely disappointed Saturday night... MSU has to be confident as hell and we're not...

Brady I'd give a guy another chance if things that happened were beyond his control, i.e. injuries. But he had to know his QB room was fubar. If not, that's even more of a problem! If they couldn't get a quality QB to come to AA, then you HAVE to change the offense to accommodate what you have. Didn't do that. So yeah, I'm not letting this guy continue to make mistake after mistake to learn how to be a head coach. Not at Michigan, that's what EMU is for.

Guys calm down plz...Moore is not going anywhere...he will be our coach this year and next year.....We just need a decent QB...Maybe fire Offensive Coordinator? Chow mein what you think or Brady?

Chowman: I am applying the , hope MSU whoops them, and the quicker this debacle ends. They said circuses are gone from US landscape; but we have the best clown show yet, right here in Ann Arbor .

Na, it's a Chinese firedrill out there. Other teams are laughing at us. There's been no glimmers of hope, and talent is being misused and wasted. I've seen enough, and I can be a patient man. I even wanted to give Juwan another year. Lol My bad on that one.

Spot on.

I respect that.... chow, what are your thoughts?

All you need is a decent QB? What decent QB is coming here? You coming here to play for this? And say you're right and Moore's back next year, and the year starts 3-3 2-4, what's Moore's job security then? Same deal with an OC: what OC worth a flip is coming to work for a guy that may not have job security. I've said it before, this thing can crater in a hurry! I'm avoiding the Christmas rush and dumping him now!

EMU wouldn't want him.

UM will never fire their first black head coach. They gave some sorry white guys a few years of misery before they pulled the plug so doubt they would dare remove Moore. Sherone better seriously consider replacing some coaches. Oklahoma and Utah showed that in today's game, you make moves immediately....there is no patience in the game. Campbell in over his head. In fact, there's not one coach on the team you can argue is doing well. And Special Teams...how can you be that bad? Not sure if a returning national champ failed to make a bowl game the following year but that's a strong reality.
