Michigan Tuesday: College Football News and Notes

  • What an honor!  Josaiah Stewart has been named a team captain!  Don't forget Tom Brady says the top honor he ever received playing football was being named Team Captain at Michigan.  Well deserved, Stewart has played great this season!
  • Dan Lanning confirmed the 12 men on the field was actually something they had game planned for but rarely comes up.  Coaching matters folks!
  • Hawaii is going to be a full-time member of Mountain West, I had always assumed they were already.
  • Utah's QB Cam Rising is out for the year with an injury.  He is now eligible for his 8th year of college football. Or maybe he wants to hit Linkedin?
  • Michigan recruit 4-star LB from IMG Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng was at Colorado over the weekend and enjoyed the electric atmosphere.
  • Reports are that Hutch had a rod placed in his leg during surgery to repair his broken Tibia and Fibula.  Its an expected 6-9 month recovery cycle.   Hutch is now Iron Man!
  • Get the first glimpse at Michigan's new Basketball program against Oakland this Sunday at the Pizza Palace in downtown Detroit.
  • This is not a joke, The Lions have signed DE Isaiah Thomas off the Bengals Practice squad.  Welcome home Zeek!
  • Big Ten and SEC are looking to have a challenge series in football.

Not to be a Richard, but Isiah Lord Thomas' nickname was Zeke! The Bad Boys Pistons might of been the last time I enjoyed watching the NBA and in IMHO, was the pinnacle of basketball in the Association! Today's NBA is garbage!

I really liked watching Cam Rising at Utah. He was everything I like about a QB, a redass!! That being said, maybe its time to grow old gracefully and start the next journey in your life Cam. Just one man's opinion. Don't need to see 27 yos playing college football!

Any thought that Aiden would be back for the playoffs or SB are over for Lions fans. I saw some posts on blog sites holding out hope, and even Dan Campbell in his presser said not to rule it out. It would be malpractice to allow him to come back this season. God speed Aiden, get well and comeback stronger next year. And please Lord, give Brad Holmes the wisdom to go out and actually get a high level DE to take Aiden's spot on the roster this season. Stop with the signing of guys off other teams practice squads. They're on PS for a reason!

And having recruits flirt around with other programs is what happens when you hire a sub par coaching staff and muddle thru the season. Whether its real or not, these kids all want to be show cased for the league. Now that being said, Colorado is a dumpster fire as well and I'm not sure Deion even coaches there next year. Once his son's are done with college, there's some noise that so is Neon Deion!

I appreciate your comments, makes me think a little bit .... yesterday late a clown complained someone (or two) was posting too much ..... do not anyone lighten up on their posts (includes you Brady 2017) ..... because someone reads the comments then cries to their Mommy about it ..... as if someone forced him to read them ...a natural born loser!!

From the comments I learned that if Sherrone was so great why did not Harbaugh take him ... and college football has become NFL Lite .... and now a crybaby wants you people to stop.... screw him where he breathes, and hope he chokes on it!

Had to go back and read yesterday's posts. you made me laugh!!! Never ceases to amaze me how people get so butt hurt over stuff. If I don't like what you or anyone posts, I ignore it or maybe act like an adult and have an adult discussion with you about it. I don't go tattle to the teacher and ruin it for everyone. Geezus!

I'm glad for Josiah Stewart being named captain, but didnt the players already vote for who's captain before the season started?

That's usually how it works

MM there you go again. If more than 5 words are too much for you, don't read it. Sorry you have either a limited attention span or limited ability to comprehend or both. Either way, its an iss-you, not an iss-me!

Blow it out your nose. I'm not a Mormon, so I'm not going to keep it sweet nor nice! I don't appreciate your comments. I find them mostly childish. While some of us try to infuse a bit of humor in our posts, you're the only one that makes it personal. Which is cool, if that's how you roll, go for it, cause I'll give right back to you! you want to have a debate on my opinions in my posts, GREAT! You want to critique my writing style or wordsmith me go bleep yourself!

Why wouldn't Rising come back for his 8th year? This is what the NIL is doing. He doesn't have a future in the NFL so why not stay in school where they are paying you $1M. Best job you'll ever have if you ain't going pro. He's going to ride the cash cow because that's what CFB has become. Not sure how long Wink was planning to be with UM but he's got 6 more games to prove he's not a huge bust. He has elite talent on the D, no excuse for being ranked in the middle of college football. Coaching. And if Sherone loses this game, I suspect the rumblings will crescendo about whether he's the future of the program or not.

Aim, that's his prerogative, I'm just saying I don't need to see it. 26/27 yos playing college football is not what the sport is about for me. Just MHO!
